Well hello ladies! Looks like I can be counted amongst your ranks. I came home from a weekend away to find my SR's form letter in the mailbox.

It took a little while for a few things to come to mind after reading his letter like: #1. 900 divisions are performance divisions. Then I recalled all the conversations we had about performing before he left. LOL! He played the french horn for years and marched at every highschool football game.

#2. I have met some wonderful moms here on N4M who already knew their daughters were in 945. So I figured cool, the guys and girls are training together. That's neat.

#3. But wait a second... they're ALL in Ship 2. ROFLOL!!!!!

Which is fine, but probably the info I was the LEAST prepared for. LOL!!!!

So glad to see some familiar names in this division. Loving the opportunity to motivate moms and feel connected to our SR's at the same time. We are not alone! <3

I just found out my boyfriend is in this division as well? So the SRs in ship 02 div 945 perform at the graduations? Do they just randomly assign sailors to this division or do they volunteer to perform?

I believe that they ask about ability to play musical instruments & flag/rifle etc the first night. They also look for those with ROTC experience for marching ability and at least some military insight on how things work. They use these for standing guard, seating guests, marching formations, etc. I don't know if it is strictly volunteer because I can't imagine my son volunteering for it. He has never really wanted to stand out and be in the spotlight. Still learning myself but this is what I have gathered so far. Exciting huh?

Thanks, and yeah it is exciting :) after doing a little bit of research I've learned that being a part of the 900 divisions is considered an honor, so that's really cool. Im so proud of my SR!

briana&isaiah forever, from what I've read, our SRs are asked questions about previous band, choir, drill team and/or JROTC experience, then based on their answers, they "volunteer" for this division.

Just when it seemed my day was going to end as stressful as it started I got the call from my SR I've been waiting for! He's homesick, but good. Plays the bass drum for the division. Also is the RCPO. Recruit Chief Petty Officer. Sounds scary! LOL. Totally made my night! AND we were all together for the call!!! Couldn't have worked out better! :-)

So since our SRs are in the performance division, does that mean they have to work during their PIR???

Good morning 945 ladies!!! Just wanted to give you a shout out and let you know you are each in my thoughts today. Let's go week 3!!! :) HOOYAH!

My daughter is also Ship 2 Division 945. It's great to link up with you all.  No letter yet, but anxiously awaiting for the first one.  More important is the phone call.  The first one was very short and "I arrived safely".  I had a hundred questions but got no answers but only "I've arrived safely".  It's surprising how quickly they change from the sweet, vivacious daughter to the robot sounding person on the other end of the line.  But the learning process is so important to be successful.  I know Allie will be herself when we see her at graduation, at least a little bit like herself.  Good day to all of you. Will be anxious at getting back on at the end of the day to see if anyone got letters today.

Hi Dee!  My daughter is also in 02/945. :)  When i see that someone's daughter is with mine, I always wonder if they've become friends, although I'm not sure if SR's even have time to make "friends".  We can always hope, right?

We live in Indiana, and as of today, we haven't received a personal letter.  When we got the form letter, it was mailed on Tuesday and we received it on a Thursday.  So, I'm hoping something was mailed yesterday and maybe it will arrive tomorrow.  I know one thing, i won't be able to get home from work fast enough tomorrow. :)

Hi Dee. We too, are waiting for the first letter. When our SR called a week ago today he said he had not written us yet. Maybe he wrote us this past Sunday.

To my knowledge I am the only one who got a call last week, and I don't even know how he managed to do that. I was so excited I didn't ask. It's possible he got to call last week because we never received the 10 sec scripted call.

That being said, I have no idea if I should anticipate another call this week or not. I hope you get one!!! Or a letter at least! :)

Ship 2/ Division 945 - Ok, so being a lurker has to pay off somehow. I have just spent 3 hours on Facebook and on N4M looking at when the 900 divisions are making their calls to see if there is a rhyme or reason. Not that we are guaranteed to get a call, but it is nice to think we might. From what I can tell, this division in particular makes calls on Fridays about 6:00PM. Most of the posts on other boards for this division begin at 6PM excited or make a statement like "talked to my SR a couple of hours ago" and posted around 8:00 -9:00. Way to much time on my hands and can't sleep. At least I will feel comfortable leaving the house tomorrow for a Team Leader retreat. :-)

Still no letter though..... hoping for that tomorrow or Thursday.
