Welcome to the discussion group for division 947.

Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the main wall to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Got our first letter today.  He is doing really good.  He said he's on the Honor Guard and carries one of the flags. He said the first night they were up for 40 hours.  And P-day were awful.  He misses home but thinks he is gonna like the Navy life (want to do 20 yrs).  He's making friends but has got one who is his best.  TN guy who is Methodist, lol. If this is your son, friend me (you will have to know your son's initials) and we can share stories. It was so awesome to see his handwriting and to here from him.  Anyone in the 947, Aug 24th was 1-5 for them. So today is 2-4 for them (I hope I'm right).

He also said they get to call on the 2nd of Sept.  That's Sunday Whoot Whoot!!!

This old girl is doing the happy dance!!!!  Not just one, but two letters today!!!!!!  My favorite line was "girls...(speaking to his sisters) Listen to mom and dad, the real world sucks!".   No truer words!

My mother in law, my son and I all got letters from our SR today! He said he had to get all his wisdom teeth pulled. OY lol He is on the Honor Guard, he does the rifle performances. He also said that he went out with his group to perform somewhere, at a Jewish service. He made friends already and is bunking next to someone he gets along with well, his friends initials are MN. (Sorry, copying you Bowflex lol). They started out with 88 in their Div and are down to 83. I guess they keep getting in trouble due to a couple trouble makers : /  But he seemed pretty upbeat and asked for more letters and more pictures. : )

*Happy Dance* Just got 7 more letters today!! He said he hated the food and alot of the guys were sick. He had a pretty nasty cold and an ear infection. I guess after he had his wisdom teeth pulled he laid in bed studying and fell asleep holding the book. Everyone had a good laugh at that because they all said he snores like an old man lol (very true). He said they gave him a shot in his butt for either his ear infection or cold. Ha! He also thought it would be fun to tell me he didn't pass his swim test and that he was graduating 2 weeks later........ then put a "haha just messing with you. I passed." Yup he's still my husband lol

Ok all you 947 Moms, my SR is in 945 and has a PIR of 9/21. Of course I will be there with my soccer mom camera complete with zoom lens. No promises, but if you will let me know who to look for I will do my best to snap a sneak peek for you. I am trying to begin putting a list together so that I am not waiting until the day before to rush and try to remember. :-) I am hoping that by paying forward someone from an earlier PIR can actually snap a pic of my SR.

Hey, thank you so much. My husband is in the Honor Guard he does the rifles. I have some pictures of him on my page if you would like to take a peek of who you're looking for lol I plan on taking pictures of other divisions at my husbands PIR too. I think it's great that we can give "sneak peeks". Thank you so much : )

It would be wonderful to see a pic of the 947. he may be  weilding the sword and calling the caidances. He looks just like the young man in my profilr picture :-) thank you...

There are 2 pictures on the Navy recruit facebook. Have you seen them? They are our div and I saw someone with a sword.

Hello all you 947 moms!!! My son just graduated BC on 8/24 and was in DIV 941.  Just wanted to drop in and let you know that your SR's are in an awesome div and they do so much in graduation. Be very proud that they were chosen for this division, as this is the best of the best!!! if you have any questions feel free to ask.

i hope you all figured it out got out of trouble so everyone can make graduation come on we are praying for thisdiv947

Got letters from my SR today, he seems to be doing well. I guess they nicknamed him "Razors" lol He said a friend he made hadn't received any letters. He felt awful and asked if I could find time to be a pen pal for him, so now I have 2 SRs to mail. Monday is the start of "Hell Week" for them. I also think this is the week they get their PIR pictures taken.
