This Discussion is for loved ones of Recruits in Division 947. Your Recruits will be training together, so perhaps you would like to get to know each other on here.

Since your Recruit is in a performing division, you may also want to join the Group, 900's division sailors. There will be information on there that relates to your situation.

Besides playing an instrument or singing, there are also Recruits/Sailors who will do color guard, carry state flags, act as escorts, do rifle guard--lots of important jobs. They are usually involved in the PIR before theirs and sometimes in the one 2 weeks before their own as well.

Here is a site I found that explains about 900 Divisions.

No letter for me yet, but maybe by friday.  I will just be patient, but yes - it IS a great day!  So glad letters are starting to come  That is wonderful.  Very happy for all of you have have heard from you SRs - the rest of us will hear in the next few days I'm sure.
I am with you KathyMmom, no letter but look forward to checking the mail box the next few days.  I am really happy for everyone that got letters. Read it once more for me :-)
I did receive a letter today. I can't say I feel much better. He says they are really struggling getting it together. Hopefully the next letter will be better. I am happy to have the letter though, but really looking forward to a call.
My daughter implied that as well.  I hope that's getting better now that they're actually training or it will be a rough couple of weeks!
I got mine today!!!!! He says it's tough, but that he is OK and happy because he knows we are all praying for him. His best friend just called and said that he had sent her a song he wrote and wanted her to call and read it to us...I've always known that somewhere, way down deep inside, there was a really sweet man in there waiting to grow up and show up.
Finally the mailman brought my letter.  Sounds good - they are working hard!  Can't wait until 10/7!  :-)
I just sent you a message and then read this. I am glad you got your letter. I am also glad yours sounds good. I hope we get more letters soon. Fingers crossed...
Oh, I'm so happy you got your letter!  It's great to have a connection to our kids.
Hi 947 Moms. I made myself sad today.  I stopped into my daughter's room, sat on her bed, looked at all her stuff, reflected on her sweet personality.  Now I am fighting tears and feeling blue!  But she said they are supposed to be calling this week so I'll refocus and look forward to that, and maybe another letter.  Hope you all have an enjoyable Sunday, and if you're in the path of the storm, I hope the effects aren't too bad and you don't have damage to your homes.
I know it is hard, sending you a big hug and we will get to PIR supporting each other!
Hugs to you. Pieces of our hearts are in GL. I keep reminding myself that my son has chosen this career and my job is to support his choice. It helps sometimes and then the rest of the time I think about October coming soon! We are all going to be amazed when we see them. One of my friends just got back from her daughters PIR and said it was one of the highlights of her life!
I know exactly how you are feeling! I would go into her room but our 15 yr old daughter wasted absolutely no time moving into my SR's room. My youngest sleeps with her quilt to make it easier to be away from her. I keep her hoodie near my bed.....this time has been especially rough on me. With my stepmom passing and then I just spent Friday through Monday in the hospital because of a migraine that refuses to get better. I am guessing this is God's way of testing me to see how I do without my SR....she is the one that is always there to help out and let me lean on....Cannot wait til 10/7 to see my girl again!!!!
