I pretty much stalk our mail lady too! I leave the mail box open in the morning that way, when the mail comes it will be closed and I don't look like an idiot, checking every half hour haha

We just got our 20 minute phone call tonight (Tuesday 8/31)  It was wonderful!  Our son sounded great. We also recieved letters today!  It was a great day today.  He loves the food!  He likes meeting everyone from across the US.  He said it is hard, but is very determined to be successful!  Heard towards the end of the call from someone announce that there was only 5 minutes left. The whole phone call went by too fast! It was nice to hear that they were getting mail every night.  I will be writing more letters.  Can't wait for the next call.  So glad that both my husband and I were able to be home to talk to him.  Hope everyone got calls tonight!

Have all of you ladies with loved ones in ship 09 div 330 received your form letters? tomorrow will be 3 weeks since my son left and I have not gotten his. I got a letter from him last week which made me so happy. Today has been a very hard day all of a sudden in the middle of making food I just wanted a hug from him:( he gives the best hugs!! This is so hard. His 3 younger siblings miss him so much as well.
I got both the form letter and a short one pager from my son. He seemed upbeat, and said he had made a lot of friends. I miss my son so much, sometimes just walk in his room and sit there for a few minutes surrounded by all of his things. My son is also ship 09 Div 330.
I wonder if there is some sort of delay with form letter because we are in california? It makes me feel a little better knowing that I am not the only mom who misses her son so much. I really feel like a piece of me is missing. What job will your son be doing? My son is Aircraft handler (ABH) he will be going to A School in Pensacola.
He is a hospital corpman.  I am not sure where his A school is. I guess I should check it out. I am in California also, so not sure what is going on with that. I could get you a copy of the letter so you can get all the information about where to stay etc.  When you do talk to your son, tell him you are talking to Brad's mom. What is your son's name?

Hi Leslie,

My son is also in ship 9, div 330.  He is also going to be a corpsman.  Their A school is in San Antonio.....  Have a great day!!

Sounds like he will have an interesting job. Where are you in california? We are from Sacramento. Thank you for offering to forward me the info. My son got to call me yesterday(hope your got to call aswell) come to find out he forgot to mail my form letter. It was so good to talk to him, to hear his voice made me feel a million times better. I will ask him if he knows Brad. My sons name is Dalten.

I live in Roseville. My son really sounded upbeat but mentioned that they are having some issues with not all the SR doing what they need to and they may have to repeat training or something like that. My son sounded so different already. He sounded the same just more focused and grown up. Looking forward to meeting everyone in Chicago. We are arriving on Thursday and leaving on Sunday.

Leslie

Oh wow I actually live in Fair Oaks and I am in Roseville several times a week for work. Maybe we could have coffee or lunch one day. My son said the same thing that there are a lot of them that are not keeping up. My son sounded different too. I guess that happens when you join the Navy and spend 3 weeks away from your mom. Did your son leave the MEPS office on the 9th?
Yes, I am sure that they were at the same hotel. The one on Arden Way. They probably flew out there together too. I hope that they can get everyone doing what they need to. I would hate for them not to graduate on time. I work in Fair Oaks near Coyle Avenue so we could definatly meet one day.
Yes my son was at the double tree. Actually my son and one other girl got separated from the rest of the group. I sure hope they get it together too. I got his journal and a letter yesterday. That with the phone call this week has made me feel much better. My son was excited about getting his dog tags and his dress uniform and he says he falls asleep every night as soon as his head hits the pillow. That is too funny what a small world that I live in the city you work and you live in the city I work the most. Ha Ha. Do you have a set lunch break time from your work?
