Did you get your box, or letter yet? My son left the 20th, the call was the hardest for me. He sounded kind of robotic or exhausted. I cried, but now I pray and write, it helps. I think our kids that left last week will graduate July 9th
I still cry just not as long, lol I said he will make it through, but will I? Its terrible for you to have a 19year old leave home and you don't know what is going on. It was his choice, I initally tried to talk him out of it, because he is my one and only. He made some good points, and mom is always on his side, so I helped and encouraged him to do well. Now as I write, I cry, but with God, I will become at ease, plus I am in nursing school, which I hope keeps me busy. That is if I can concentrate. Today was the 1st day of school and I probably heard a little over half of what teacher said, I kept drifting off, thinking of my son.
well i just got the box today she left on the 18th it made me calm down knowing that is a change for the best and that is a step up to her goals !! will b here 4 u
Ok my son's box came today, I'm a little upset, because we went by the DEP book, to get his supplies and they sent everything home. I work part time, and I went out of my way to buy him a small address book, a watch with military time, razors(not electronic), writing material, all as it suggested AND THEY SENT IT ALL BACK WITH HIS CLOTHES. I just don't understand!
This happened with our first. It is really the recruit who sends it back. However, they are so overwhelmed with everything going on in that moment, that they don't ask to see if the items are acceptable. Our daughter kept her watch, and that was it. I think it easier for the recruit to go through the lines and just get issued everything. He'll be able to use it later, so just hold on to everything. I wish the DEP book would make more of an empasis on NOT buying anything.
Thanks for your help, I'm feeling better, think I'm having a bit of anxiety LOL . Hoping when I get home from work today, there will be a letter waiting.
