Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Drug Allergy, possibly disqualification? I'm worried for my son
My son had ingrown toenails as a kid and in 2005 he had then removed at our physician's office. about an hour afterwards both of my son's feet broke out in huge blisters. the doc said it was probably just a reaction to the shots. My son said he didn't experience any pain and a couple of weeks later we went in for a follow up and all was well. we didn't think anything of this incident, until I got a call from the Great Lakes Dental Office today.
The doctor told me if he had a reaction to lidocaine it could cause my son to be disqualified from the Navy. That would be devastating to my son. They set him up an appointment with a civilian allergist on january 6th to determine if he is allergic to it. In the meantime I can't do anything but wait. I'm worried about my son's morale and I'm worried that while he's waiting to see the allergist his graduation date is being delayed and he's being left in limbo.
Does anyone have any information on what happens in cases like this? How does this work? Will he continue to train until he see's the allergist? They won't just leave him somewhere to do nothing by himself will he?

If he is still with his division, then he will continue to train and just have the appointments, much like he has with the dental appointments, and if he is not allergic to lidocaine, things will go on and if he passes everything, he will PIR on time. If he was moved to another Ship, then he may be delayed depending on how quickly the answer comes. If he has been moved to Ship 4, the RCU-Recruit Convalescent Unit-where sick or injured recruits go to heal and be cycled back into another TG, you may want to join or at least look at the information within one of these groups, SHIP 04 DIV 2341 or Ship 6 (Sick or Injured Recruits)waiting to return to a division to... (clickable links).

thanks for the reply Lenonelephant. He is still in his division so I guess that is a good thing. Please keep your fingers, eyes, nose and toes crossed for my son that he is not allergic to lidocaine and he can continue on as planned.
