Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I started this discussion so we’re able to keep all our thoughts on our meet and greet in one place.
Please share all your Ideas you have for our meet and greet here
*some groups have made buttons; ribbons; worn different color scarf’s ( to identify who you, your division, and who your Sailor is) PIR 8/13/2010 are buying “sailor hats” and each one is decorating their own, I think (I thought that was a cool idea)
*Also if you could please place your name, your SR's first name and the names of who is attending meet & greet with you here, that would be great as well, even if your not attending, I still want to include you in the list below.
The Ramada provides Hot Hors d'oeuvres, but drinks are not included. Drinks are available, each person will be responsible for their own bar tab. If you are staying at the Ramada you will receive a couple of drink coupons.

Oh my gosh! Those ribbons above are SO cute! Did you notice that the one in the middle even has Ship 7 on it? How funny :) I like how the first one used Blue and Gold, and how the third one used two ribbons and a button! If we do a button that would make it easy to pin on but I wonder if that would get expensive??? Oh, this is going to be so hard to decide! If we do colors I am wondering how we would incoroprate a color into the mix... suggestions...ideas???
I am not saying that this will happen for sure or anything...but... if I were to be out shopping and found something SO perfect (Like a button with the date 8/20/10 or Buttons with a Navy Symbol on them or an anchor or something) and decided to buy them for our meet and greet....does anyone have any estimates on around how many to buy. I mean, I know we have no idea how many to really plan for yet but what like 20 per div? 40 per div? 50 per div?
Somtimes I find things on sites like Oriental Trading Company (or similar sites) that can be bought in bulk and end up being really cost effective. I don't know... just a though. -

Yea, I was looking at those too. They are so cute... I even found one that says my screen name on it "Sailor's Sweetheart" How cute! That site is so fun :) I have like a billion things in my "shopping cart" right now and will have to start removing some so I don't spend an entire months income on fun Navy things, LOL!

When is the meet and greet? Division 281 ~ Sailor son is Mchael. Attendees are myself Beth, sailor sister Brittany and sailor girlfriend Emily. Cafepress.com is another great site for 'sailor gear'. We should probably make a decision soon as it is less than 3 weeks away! If I don't hear back from my son about his divisions colors, blue and gold would be my choice for our division. But we may be the only ones from 281! Let me know if there is anything I can do. Do you think everything should be bought in bulk and made identical for each division? If one person doesn't want to do it, maybe bring all of the items to the meet and greet and everyone makes their own there? None of the suggestions above look too complicated. Just a thought.

Also, I think Hoppi aka Angie works for the Navy and is only on Navy For Moms to help us. Not sure, but I've read other blogs that strongly suggest listening to her. Just a thought ......

So, I have been reading some comments about the Ramada not being very safe. Are we still having our Meet & Greet there? I personally am okay with that, I just want to make sure that I know where to go :)
