While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Failed test and trip to medical
She said she feels so overwhelmed, that the div does a lot of bickering and are disrespectful. My heart aches for her. I am so worried for her. I love her no matter what. If she didn't make it through boot camp. I would still love her the same but I know she would be devastated. I hate that there is nothing I can do for her. She said so many people have gone home but she's not giving up. Please keep her in you prayers and well wishes.

I will say some prayers for her and for you. Best of luck to both of you. I know my son called the day before Easter and was really down-it is so hard not being able to be there for them, and not being able to follow up and see how they are coping. If it is any consolation, he was having a really down day, and he sent me a letter the next day that said he felt better after we talked. Please tell your daughter that I will be sending up prayers of encouragement for her.

If her PIR gets pushed back she will be allowed a phone call. Also if she gets caught wearing boots in her bed she will get in TROUBLE! They are not allowed to do that.
Sorry to say all the female divisions bicker...they just can't get along and normally get in more trouble than the men do.

I got a call from her yesterday and she had already been to medical. They said her ankle was swollen and that she did the best thing with her boot.. Apparently after I told her to wear the boot to bed she went and asked if it was okay and got a yes. She also asked me to send her a pair of inserts. She told me the chief recommended it. She said she thinks she passed the test she had to retake. She sounded so much better. Hope she keeps her nose to the grind and keeps moving through.

I'm glad she sounded better. If the Chief recommended the inserts then she will be allowed to keep them. Some RDC’s allow them and others don’t.

I hope she gets the inserts soon. I have a question. She said on Saturday, that she failed a test, but she would be retaking it on Sunday. She sounded positive on Sunday. Do you think if she failed again that I would have heard from her or about it?

She should not have been able to retest on a Sunday since that is a Hold day. It is my understanding that even written tests are given on regular training days. Given that there are still a few weeks to PIR, she should be able to pass it and have PIR on time. She would have received some additional help to prepare because they want everyone to be able to pass and don't like to ASMO recruits unless they have to. If she didn't pass, that could result in her being ASMO'd for additional assistance and you would get a call if that happened, so I would say that she passed.

I had my days confused. I had to go back and check my phone to get it straight. She actually called me on Sunday that's when she told me she had failed a test and said she would be retaking it the next day. She called on Monday and said she had retaken it and felt good about it. Would I have received a call from her if she failed again and would she know the results by now? Forgive me, what is ASMO?

If it was going to be a problem, you would have gotten a call. ASMO'd means to be set back in training.
ASMO: ASsignment Memorandum Order. Recruits who are ASMO’d are set back in training, typically for failing a training requirement (academic, running, swimming or PFA), medical or disciplinary reasons.
