Moms,

I'm proud to announce our February Adoption of the USS Mason DDG-87. They are about half way through a nine month deployment in the Gulf/Mediterranean region.

Let's provide these sailors with a Mardi Gras celebration - color theme is purple, green and gold. I will send the beads, let's send them masks and decorations in the spirit of this party!

This crew consists of 250 men and 75 women and pillowcases are a go :)

Following is a list suggestions from our contact:

  • Letters from home first and foremost
  • Chocolate chip cookies or your favorite cookie
  • Brownies
  • DVD's
  • Any games - card, board, etc.

Anything you send will be greatly enjoyed and appreciated!!

Let's show them some Molly Mom Love!

Ship Date: February 19 - 24th

Please indicate on the box if you are including decorations so our contact can prepare the area

I don't know how much I will be able to do, but count me in.  I will look for mardi gras masks, etc.  And I'll see what I can do about baking some cookies.  Sounds like fun!

Count me in for the Mason! My niece also said she would send stuff!

Hi Lynda,

I'm trying to get a small group of moms together for a packing party. My Feb is pretty booked up so far.  When will you be looking for the boxes to ship out?

I'm hoping I can help out.

donna

19th - 24th - this is a short month which is why we picked a slightly earlier ship date.

Lynda,

I'll be visiting my son in San DIego and I wouldn't be able to do the packing party until Sat Mar 1st.  I would be able to ship it on that Monday.  Would this work?  If not, I wouldn't be able to have it :(

There will be another adoption in March, why don't you plan your packing party for that adoption.  Enjoy the visit with your son!

We have a mother that has a son on that ship.  I will see if someone else can hold the packing party before that ship date.

Remember, whoever has the packing party..........let Diane know ASAP !!!!!(dberland@mollysadoptasailor.com)

Thanks Pat for the reminder.

I picked up 30 masks and 30 horns from the dollar store today!

YOU GO GIRL!!!!

Count me in.  I will collect as many games, DVDs and cookies as possible.  I don't have Facebook so please post mailing address.  Thanks.
