Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My son called tonight. He's only 9 days in and he called to get me to email a statement about ADD he was diagnosed with back in 4th grade and quit taking meds for in 7th grade. He excelled in high school graduating with honors and an advanced diploma. The day after the "I'm here" call, he called to ask me about the ADD from years ago. Now here we are 8 days later and another call. Is this typical?

Yes, if he didn't disclose the ADD until he got to BC, yes, this is typical.

Actually, it was disclosed to his recruiter. The recruiter tried to track down the doctor but she has since retired. I filled out a statement with the recruiter letting them know he's been off meds since 2006.

They will check things out to be sure that he had any waivers he needed and that everything was disclosed that should have been ahead of time and that nothing will cause a problem for him at BC or in the future.

He called today and we were able to talk for almost 20 minutes. He said that he has an appt. later in the week for an eval. Hoping all goes well. Hoping he's able to stay on target for PIR.

Have you gotten an update. My son leaves at the end of March. He, too, is ADD and has been off meds since he was a sophomore in HS- he will be 19 in July. All of the info has been disclosed of course. Just curious...

rmj79, They tested him a couple of days ago. He's good to go! We just found out today when he called home.

We disclosed everything as well. Didn't want anything holding him back or there being a problem later on. I think the big issue was that his Dr. is retired and the medical history is no where to be found. He didn't have a Dr. to sign off on him so we filled out forms and such way back in the summer.

I'm really confused. My son is in the same boat.  How did you get Contact info to send the medical documentation?
