For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Graduation Date Estimate
Good morning,
My son leaves for Boot Camp in June; is there a way to estimate when graduation might take place? I would like to start looking at airlines for deals on refundable tickets.

Count nine Fridays from the date of arrival to get the mist likely PIR date and then know that it could be the week before if your then recruit is placed in one of the last divisions from the week before and is in a Push Division (more likely for one arriving on Monday or Tuesday) or PIR could be the week after if all of the divisions in that week's TG are filled and the recruit is placed in a division in the next week's TG (more likely for one arriving on Wednesday or Thursday or in the wee hours of Friday). Wait on the form letter to know the date for sure. The form letter arrives an average of ten days after the recruit's arrival at the RTC.
Southwest allows you to change the reservation without an additional fee other than the difference in the flight charge. You do not have to buy refundable tickets that way.
