For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Graduation Weekend Question
I'm sure this has been addressed many times over, but I am getting conflicting information. Last week I talked to my son's recruiter and was told that my son would have the weekend of PIR off. He said that my son would have most of the rest of PIR day off, the majority of Saturday and even a little on Sunday before having to be at the airport. Well, I've seen posts about SRs leaving a few hours after PIR. And just now on RTC facebook, there were several people that said they usually fly out very early on Saturday morning, as early as two or 3:00 a.m.!!
I understand that it depends on where you are going, but why can't things be a little easier to understand. This is the 2nd time the recruiter has gotten our hopes up, WAY up, only to discover he is wrong again. First he told us that my son would get to come home for five days after graduation. Then he said he'd have the weekend with us in Chicago.... :(

Grad-n-go is an outdated term and yet it appears the Recruits are using it. It's now Friday and Suaturday Departures. Those staying at GL are Friday Departure and those going out of state for A School are Saturday Departure.
Since you probably know his PIR date, go to GROUPS: Listed By PIR Date - Pass In Review (Boot Camp Graduation) and click on the date and join the group for his PIR date to connect with others with loved ones who are training with your SR.

My sailor graduated on 7/29 from GL. We had him from right after grad until he needed to be back on the base by 6:30 pm.that very day. His RDCs said being on time is the "new late"..so he wanted to get back there pretty early. His flight left the next morning. (very early). We could have met him at the airport, but at that time he did not have info. on his flight or if he was even going out of O'Hare. We mailed his phone,ipod, etc. to him priority mail when we found out his address in TX for A school. So, don't plan on having your son for the entire weekend which would be very unusual unless it is around a holiday weekend. sorry.

Even the holiday weekend, the new Sailors normaly fly out the following day if their "A" School isn't at Great Lakes.
