That is so great!! I wish I were going to be there...my son is on the USS Makin Island. He is so happy there. I hope to see him, his wife and my new grandson over Christmas or the early part of next year. I have trouble traveling due to my health. Enjoy the MI and let them all know we "moms" are very proud of them.
Hello Terry

I will let them all know how very proud we are of them. I am so happy to be attending the retirement party and seeing some of my old friends. I wish I could stay longer my son and his wife are expecting a baby any day now!!!!!! How kool is that! However I have to attend a very important meeting. I will take plenty of pictures and upload them for all to see. I hope you will be able to travel to see them soon. It is a great ship. I spent three days aboard the ship last year along with my brother and had such a wonderful time. Plus the Christmas Party is friday night!!!!!!! I wish I could simply clone myself. I am working to develop contacts for a non profit I started last year and have been invited to participate in a special training on sat. so i must drive back to long beach on friday.........god bless and i hope you feel better real soon.

You must be so excited for a new baby...it has been awhile so I am guessing the baby is here. You are right the MI is a beautiful ship. I was there for the commissioning and then went on a day cruise with my son. It is amazing especially when it is the first ship you have been on. Jordan loves being assigned to it and loves San Diego. I love San Diego too and would love to live there but my husband is Colorado born and raised and won't leave the mountains of Colorado for California. I would have a hard time explaining to my other children why I would move to San Diego and not Virginia or Nebraska where they are. It's hard having them so spread out. I liked it better when they all lived in the same state.I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and a great 2011. God Bless
