For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Holidays for Djibouti in June 2011
Ladies, we are going to Africa! These kids are a group of Seabees (NMCB 74 DET 11). They have been away from home since November and they have missed the holidays back home. Sooooo, we are going to give them what they have been missing. Christmas, New Years, Ground Hog, Valentines, St Patricks, April Fools, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Independence Day and Birthdays and any other holiday that we can think of. We can send them decorations for each holiday. Maybe some of the packing parties can adopt a holiday and go all out!
They live in Clu's which are connex boxes molded into rooms. They would love pillowcases so lets see about getting them a little bit of home for their rooms. They have microwaves, fridge and freezer access. They can get most of what they need from their NEX. Two things they would love… energy drinks and toothpaste other than Colgate! (the only brand they can get) They say they really do not 'need' anything. They would love to have cards and letters, so lets get them cards and letters from each of the holidays that they have missed.
It is very, very hot there and it is 110 to 120 degrees. So lets try to get them some neck coolers and some freeze pops and maybe some of those hand held mist fans would be something to help ease the heat.
There are 150 with the breakdown of 130 males and 20 females.
We will be mailing June 23 thru the 28th!

That's great Susan! I have fabric washed and ready to cut but until I get it cut, I can't get it matched. Once that is done, I can go pretty fast. I hope to get that done and sewing on Friday. Between work and my yard work, I've been running out of time. I'm hope you ladies get to sew, at least I know you will have a good time trying :)

If you don't have time to cut separate hems, just put a nice hem on a yard of the fabric.
I've got 2 extra pillowcases that were given to me by an older lady (how sweet) that I can put in this month's mailing. Plus, I have 2 extra that I sewed, bringing Carol's total to 14 instead of 10.

Ok, so I have 10 boxes with Easter Baskets and 1 with Easter Eggs. Do I have to put anything special on the box other than the customs form and address label? Thanks

Put a few Molly adopt a sailor labels on that box!! Then they will know to add it to the collection of other boxes coming in!! Yahoo... how much fun they are going to have!!

Oh, and Debbie, if you don't have labels, just print them on paper and tape them to the outside (and inside) of the box. Whoop whoop! Hope those are not chocolate eggs--if so, just send them to me--lol

Ok, I'm a rookie - where do I get the labels? And Carols - no chocolate - it would be chocolate syrup by the time it got to them. Heck, it 114 here, it would melt before I ever got to the post office!!!

Debbie, Go to Molly's Adopt A Sailor group page. On the right side just below the pictures of the members, click on "New Moms, Read First." At the bottom of the info, you can click on labels and print them out. Any problems, let me know!

Just 2 babies and I never heard whether boys or girls so if you have generic I guess send those. Yes we are short pillowcases so any would be appreciated. I'm working on some tomorrow but don't know how many I can come up with yet.
