There's a good chance you won't get one, but if you do, what do you dream about? Where would you like to go?  What's your idea of romance?

We take honeymoons a couple times a year, so I like Hawaii.  We're more established, so we can do that. Gotta love that retired paycheck for supplementing the income!

First thing, all those super-cheap cruises and trips to Mexico... forget them.  ALL of Mexico is off limits to our sailors right now.  Before you purchase a trip outside the US, be certain you find out from OFFICIAL sources if that's a destination your sailor can travel to.

Even if you don't get that honeymoon right away, an anniversary trip in a year or two can be something to look forward to.  Yeah, he'll want to stay home and watch TV, but that's not much fun after a while.  So look and dream!

This is a local agency in our state (UT), but they can book for anyone. Best deals on the planet and I think they aren't kidding:

My fiance and I are doing a trip to Sandals because they offer a military discount. I'm super excited for a week of us alone without any interruptions from my work or the Navy.

Awe Sandals sounds nice!! We know we wont get a honeymoon right after the wedding but we ARE going to do one when he gets a little leave time even if its just for a few days.. I thought a Mexican cruise sounded ideal (they leave from near where I live by the coast) buuuut I guess I need to think again!! lol I think honeymoon I think tropical so maybe I'll look into Sandals :)
See? That's what we're here for.

The Sandals vacations are awesome! I've never been, but several of my married girl friends have gone for thier honeymoon and have had nothing but great things to say, so I'm totally stoked! Its to the point that I'm not even counting down until the wedding, I'm counting down for the honeymoon because that's when all of the stress will be over! Well, most of it. We have to move from Florida to Norfolk right when we get back, so that might be a little stressful.

Haha, I suggested doing a cruise, but my fiance looked at me like I was nuts. I guess when he's off the ship and on leave, the last thing he wants to do is get on another ship.

But here's the website:

We're going to Sandals Grande Riveria (formerly Ocho Rios) in Jamaica. You have to call the 1-800 number when you book so that you can get the military discount. And you will need to have your sailor with you when you call because they do need to verify with him. Hope this helps (: Good luck and happy planning!

Awe thank you soooo much!! I just saw this :/.. Glad I saw it now too I'll make sure we call when I see him one weekend during A-School... And I know I'm SO looking forward to my honeymoon.. At least you'll be relaxed when you move to Norfolk!! :)
Jess, That's what my fiance' said because I wanted to take a cruise and he said that he sees enough water when he's underway... We live in Va and he is stationed in Norfolk. When are you moving to Norfolk?
May first! And I still have no idea where we're going to live, lol. My head has been so wrapped around the wedding, that I haven't been able to focus fully on the move. Any recommendations on apartments or townhomes?
Lol. I understand that. We went to rent.com and we got an apartment in Hampton. I love Hampton! There are some really nice townhouses in Hampton over by the Hampton Coliseum and the Peninsula (which is an outdoor mall). I will try to get the name and address for you.
