While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

How do You know which A School
I am a little new to all of this, but I have yet to find information about how you find out which certain a school you will be attending. Will it be after you take the asvab?
Also how do you study for the asvab? I took a pretest for the airforce and scored a 45. Then decided to go navy instead. Once I told them about it the recruiter said she could get me sworn in, in like 3 days. So I take it that was a pretty good score? I know you have to score at least a 50 on it. IDK.
Last what are the better jobs to be placed in after bc when going to aschool.?

Which A school depends directly on which rate (job) you qualify and sign up for. After A school, you might go on to advanced training at a C school.
For example, an ET (electronics technician) would go to ET A school which is located in Great Lakes, IL. The aviation rates usually go to Pensacola, FL, other rates might go to Texas for school, or to San Diego. So you find out where your A school is when you are selected for a rate. There are a few rates without an A school, but not many. Even the undesignated seaman goes to basic seamanship school.
