Does anyone know how to find the names of the various group admins?  I know for each goup you can see who created the group, but it doesn't show the various people that have admin privileges.

You're right, Craig.  It appears that only the Group Creator and Group Administrators can see that information within a group unless they post it.

What do you want to do?

Sorry, meant to be more diplomatic. I have always thought the should be a list of group creators and group admins but N4M is not that organized. You could ask the N4M admins to send a message to the group creators - see if it could be done.

BunkerQB - Some times you'd like to know who runs a thread just so you can suggest adding a "Pages" area (under the members pictures) for items that always get asked.  Just like the 'New Moms Report Here' thread, they have it and it looks good and doesn't clog the discussion area.  Only the group admins can do that, and who know who "they" are.

It just seems silly that they don't show them..

I am the one who has added all those pages on New Moms Stop Here. It's a new feature - just showed up one day. It would have been nice to have gotten some notification. Anyway, I poking around and saw some reference to pages - and I thought what?  Do you have other topics you think should be added on NMSH?

For each of the PIR groups, I think there should be some standard broiler plate list of reference - like you said - the same old questions.  I was going to suggest to lemonelephant that she or you could ask the creator each PIR group to appoint one of you as temporary admin just to get these pages up.  Like list of hotels, how many guest, PIR schedule.

Hey have you contact the N4M admins yet?

I agree that there should be some standard Pages--updated to include the most recent info when info gets outdated and not just pasting the old stuff over and then mentioning that something changed since that was originally posted because some people don't read all the way to the bottom.  I'm also wondering about keeping the number of Pages down because I'm not sure everyone realizes they can click on the "View all" button.  There is blank space under "Pages" so why doesn't it allow more of them to show up on the main page for the group?

You are confusing PAGES (what Navy For Moms/NING calls them) and discussions WITHIN a group. The creator or admin can decide the number of discussions to be featured and filtered what kind of discussions to feature (newest, latest activity, most popular, etc). The discussions are located underneath the main area underneath the group icon and before the comment wall. The PAGES are located underneath the members icon. The PAGES can not be filtered or reordered (unless you delete and re-enter everything - that is why I numbered the PAGES).  There is a comments option for the PAGES which I did not select because it would then become just another discussion.  The creator or admin of the group must keep up with any changes in the info and correct the PAGES.  So if you or Craig see things that need changing in the NMSH PAGES, please let me know.

NO, BQB, I must respectfully disagree with you.  I AM NOT confusing PAGES and DISCUSSIONS.  There are PAGES underneath the Members in the New Moms Stop Here group and in the PIR 09/23/2011 TG 45 (Divisions 315–320 & 945) group and in the other PIR groups beginning with the PIR 9/09/11 TG 43 — 13 Divisions (291–302 & 943) group.  I was responding to the second half of your previous comment about the "broiler point..." When I set up the 09/23/11 group, I took the idea from the New Moms Stop Here Group and put the thiings that are of interest to all in the PAGES section and the Discussions is for the Divisions (I chose to use Brother Divisions since they train together and it would get more people interacting with each other than doing individivual Divisions).  But regardless of which group the Pages are in, why can't that section expand so that more are seen at once?

I totally agree lemon.  No one ever hits the "View all" button.  The "Pages" is the way to go for the general stuff like BQ says.  It just makes sense....

Now I'm one of the worst offenders of this.  On the Cryptology section I have the ability to do it, but haven't had the time to do it yet.  But it just seems to me, but the general stuff over there for those to see.  For the discussion area, leave that open so people can comment on various things, like different subgroups on a PIR area.  I just makes it soooo much easier to understand, in my eyes....

I just added a note at the END of the section just proceeding the Discussion Forum to click on VIEW ALL in the New Moms Stop Here. Tell me if it helps.

BunkerQB - Ahh Ha.... We have caught you now.  You just owned up to being an group admin on the "New Moms Stop Here".  I never knew that...  Now if they had a feature that allowed me to see who was an admin, then I would have suggested it directly...

lemon - I like the "pages" on that PIR group.  Like you said, the stuff isn't getting lost in the discussion area.  Beleive me, the discussion area is needed for those that want lots of interaction.  But the pages is a one shot deal, were you put out the facts, and let the people read them.  Everything has a purpose, but most don't know how to use them. (or like me, don't have the time to use them)....but I should....

Just wanted to let you know that I sent a message to N4M admins to get NING to expand the index for PAGES to unlimited or 50 (if they have to have a limit). I also asked if there is a way to contacting the creators or admins of each group. We have a number of creators who are MIA.

Craig, on the top line of the Panel of Advisers - it list Abby as the Group Creator and me as Group Admin.
