Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

I see you have joined DEP-Leavin for bootcamp in November. There are 3 discussions, My son leaves on November 6, My son is leaving for boot camp today 11-06 from North Carolina, and My son leaves Nov. 6 for boot camp, that may be of interest to you. You may also want to join, or at least check out, Boot Camp Moms, Girlfriends, Fiances,and Wives of Sailors, PIR Reference Information, and New Members Stop Here.
Once you know his PIR date and/or division number, watch in Boot Camp Moms and/or at http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date and join the group for that once it has been created.

So I made it a week. Everyday is getting a little easier. I got his box today and I'm looking forward so much to the form letter. Its not easy not having your best friend and love of your life around to talk to everyday so I've been writing letters still even though I cant send them yet. It helps. How are you doing?
