Im taking my son to the recruiting office in about 30 minutes. He will go to meps then a hotel tonight and fly to Great Lakes tomorrow. Even though Im a Navy Dad I feel the anxiety that all of the Moms have been posting for the past 6 months that I have been on this helpful site. I have raised him as a single parent, so I guess Im a Mom sometimes too (that just doesnt sound too macho lol).
I have seen it on here somewhere. Can someone tell me about when I should get the kid in a box and his address, ship and division, etc?

Thanks Britt,
I hope you keep that positive attitude when you get there. I'm proud of you and all the others for choosing to go in the Navy. Be strong and hang tough. Its only 8 weeks. Be over before you know it. I will be there when you all graduate.
I talked to my son last night from the hotel. He was sorta preoccupied talking to other recruits waiting to go also. I guess he doesnt need old Dad like I thought he would. And that makes me feel alot better.
Thanks Heather
My son is sitting at meps right now waiting on his flight info(Im guessing). I dont expect the "Im here" call to be at a decent hour tonight. But my phone will be at my side until he calls.
I took my daughter to the recruiter yeserday to catch van to Okla. city. She flw out today for boot camp. I haven't heard if she's made it there yet. So many different emotions...proud, sad..,
