Here is a calendar to keep track of when our loved ones leave for BC June 2011.  Stole the idea from the Leaving in March group!  I tried to go back through the site to get dates from those posted.  Help me keep it updated!  :)

i think this group is great!  i didn't have this when my other daughter went in 4 years ago (her 4 year anniversary is 3 days before her big sister goes in) and i had nobody to help me thru anything.  now i have to find a site like this for the army (baby boy)

Hey Y'all! It's 6:00am and I am just now getting on. I have read alot of good posts. Ya'll are so nice. We went to get POA and Medical POA and it depressed me a bit so I have just tried to forget. Hard to do with my big tall man walking around. :.) Anyway, we are going to tackle his room tomorrow. I'm taking off work after today until he leaves so he is going to get sick of me! Worried about Navy Federal...it is pending review and don't know if we are going to get his info now before he goes.  Why we waited to the last minute I don't know. I guess he will have to use our bank if the info doesn't come through before then.

Pretty sure the woman on the phone told me they put aside future boot camp accounts with a note on them to indicate deposits will be forthcoming. All they would need is a social security number and could access his newly created account (in boot camp). Just make sure you print out the joint application online and get his signature now. When you receive the mailer, which I just got (applied last Sunday) with the savings and checking account numbers, just fill them in and mail them in case they don't arrive before he leaves.

Incidentally, everything from Navy Federal arrives in separate envelopes. Gotta keep the post office in business I guess, although it's probably for security purposes.

See, it will all work out. : )

Also, she told me to make a copy of my driver's license and submit it with the joint application (if you indeed are doing that) just so it doesn't delay anything should they decide they need it.
Okay I will do that. Thank you.

Ironing my son's gown for commencement tonight...this is gonna be a rough one.

I think the Navy should issue t-shirts to moms "Emotionally Unstable Person-Interact With Caution"

Thank you for the info. I have really been stressing out about it. Wow, and I thought I had alot going on. Graduating then leaving...The graduation itself is a big step! I will be thinking of you.

It was a challenge planning the party because there are people you would invite to a farewell that you might not necessarily invite to a graduation. Lets just say it's going to be a HUGE party on the 12th. If you're in Ohio, stop by. The planning is keeping me busy and from losing my mind  completely.

If I were in town, I would definately be there! That is my anniversary by the way. We are not celebrating it much this year. Too much going on as you can see. :.)

Plz add me to the list. My son leaves June 7th as well.

I dont know anyone here, new to this group/site really.

We live about 30 minutes from the bootcamp so if anyone has questions about the area I can help with that.

My son is leaving on the 7th and I am a basket case. My daughter just graduated from college a couple of weeks ago and my husband goes in for surgery on the 6th. I just want to cry all the time but have to act brave for my "men". I dont know anyone in my position so am feeling lonely as well. My son is so happy except for worry about his dad. So I dont want to be sad around him and I have to be up around my husband as well as he is very scared too. When it rains it pours I guess.

Hello AliceH51! Welcome to our group!  I'm so sorry you are having to go through all of that at once. I cannot imagine how you must feel. This group is a great resource and confidant to talk to! Who knows your son and my son may be in same division!
