It is so good to know I am not alone. My son is older too, 25, and while he is mature in alot of ways he is very stubborn about things. He doesn't want me to tell him what to expect. He said I am making him nervous. He has gotten a little grumpy too which like you all said is normal. We want to be close to them at this time but I guess it is their way of breaking away before they leave. It is going to be a hard 7 weeks. I too have said we need to go through all the things and divide them up. Maybe in May right? I'm the read everything and be prepared and he is the type to say just don't think about it or worry about it. He thinks it will be better not to know.
Well, my wait just got shorter.  I called my RC this afternoon because I had counted in my head and figured 50 days from today we'd be dropping him off at the recruiters office (Sam's Mom - I swore just last week you posted it was 80 days away...what happened to the last 30 days?)  Anyway, while I was talking to him his recruiter called and said they had a spot open May 17.  He leaves 4 weeks...as in 28 days...from today!  Truly, I wouldn't have taken that well if not for this site.  I'm just going to look at it as 3 weeks earlier I will get his first call, I'm a Sailor call, and will see him at PIR.  That's my story and I'm going to try really, really hard to stick with it.
Wow, that is fast! I guess we will all have to get use to changes with the military. I think that is a good way to look at it. You will be done worrying that much quicker and can give us all advise. :.)
I'll hang out if you want me to and try to keep the calendar updated.  I'm not sure how to turn it over to someone else if they wanted it anyway, so it will give me a reason to come back and read up on all of your progress as well.

Yes, my son really doesn't want to hear what I have learned. It has to come from the direct site or his recruiter!  That is fine, I just save the info and keep it just in case. I know they have alot on them so I just give him his space and let him talk about it when he wants to.  I know for him that is his way of dealing with the split from us and his fiance.

My son just found out today that he will be leaving June 13th. How do I get it added to the calendar?
Got you added, Momofkgw!  If any others are reading this string and have loved ones (or yourself) leaving in June, just post your name and date and I'll get you added!  Just another way we can connect!  Happy Easter!
Thank you for the calendar. It's a great idea to keep track.  I guess my daughter is the first one leaving in June. Any more GIRLS out there leaving?
Possibly Future Sailor on June 22?  Hopefully with your posting, we'll get a few more chiming in!  :)  Welcome aboard!

Hi Paloma!! My daughter just left two days ago. There were a lot of girls that were lined up with her waiting for the bus. She is my youngest.....hard to let go! I haven't heard from her yet which is hard. Just wanted to let you know you are not alone!

Please add DannySeabeeCM to the 27th on the calendar. Thanks. :.)
They are added.  Thank you!
