Welcome!! Join this group http://www.navyformoms.com/group/leavinforbootcampindecember here you'll connect with others leaving in Dec and read some of the discussions for good info.

Also, go to your page and scroll down to read comments left for you on your comment wall. I left you a greeting message with links and other info that hopefully will be helpful to you and your rct.

When in Dec will he leave? Is he getting excited? What will his rate (job) be?
I think he will have to report to MEPS in Raleigh NC on 12/13 (Monday) it's sad because that Tuesday 12/14 is his 20th birthday. He is excited....and I was, but now I am worried. He will have to have his wisdom teeth pulled, and he has a tooth that he will have to have a root canal on. I tried to get him to do it now at home before, but he said, mom....they will take care of it. He is going to be a Ship Servicemen (SH) not exactly what he wanted, but it took 6 trips to MEPS to get a job offer even with 4 years of JROTC and LET 8. I am not worried about PT, he is in great shape, doesn't smoke or drink, but loves Dr. Pepper and Sour Patch Kids.......and Pizza...
Not sure if you joined the DEC BC group but my son leaves Dec 8th. Wealth of info there and feel free to ask any question.
My Son will also be leaving on the 12/13 -12/15 Not exactly sure of the exact date.....but his 20th birthday is 12/14. I have been so excited but now as time is getting alot closer, I am so nervous. I am hoping he will be ok without his momma....as he is, and has always been my boy. His dad and I split up when he was 5 years old and he was the only man in my life for over 2 years. I did re marry later and my husband was in the Army (Infantry) in Ft. Hood TX. so he has absolutely no compassion for me and just says "he will be fine, what are you worried about?" I am so happy to find this site too, as I had no clue what to expect and I would rather know, than guess the entire time. I am new to this site too....so I am right there with all the other newbies....I will keep every one in my thoughts and prayers, and I am so glad to know there are so many other moms out there going thru the same thing with me.
My son leaves from New Orleans on 12/15/10. I'm also concerned about Christmas. I wonder if they will get to GL around the same time. I hope we can get through this together!
