For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Thanks for the encouragement re: the arguing and debating! I guess I have been concerned that he would have trouble with obeying commands, but he assures me he thought it all through! Glad to know your son did great in boot camp. The videos I've been watching all evening look fun, actually! He did go to a military h.s. so he is somewhat familiar with the kind of training they get.

Hey there. My son left today TOO! I am a mess however..he just texted me that he landed safe..was heading into the USO to eat..and now I think the phone is OFF. I miss him so much already! Did yours leave today too? What is he going into to? Have you heard from him YET?

Sounds just like our boy! He called when the plane landed in Chicago and said he would be going to the USO too, and that was the last we heard. He is going to be a Nuke. Can't wait to get that address so we can write!

My son is on the plane now with 21 other Seamen Recruits from Jacksonville Fl. He called on the way to the airport and was very upbeat. They were told many of them will be in the same division, & they were getting to know each other so he was less nervous than he's been for days. He had to loose some weight so that was hanging over his head until they passed through MEPS.Well let's all hang on for this roller coaster ride.

Heather, we were actually walking through the mall where he was to meet his recruiter, who would drive him to the airport, and my son mentioned he was afraid he had gained weight from us taking him out to dinner, having a barbecue, and other stuff. I was so nervous until we found one of those scales that give your weight and your fortune in the mall----fortunately, he was below the weight limit (thank You, Lord!) so we could relax and even go eat lunch w/o worrying!

hey our boys are together we are from clermont i got his box yesterday
just sent out our first letters and a calling card
how have u been since he left? im ok been working alot. i never thought i would miss hearing my boys fight and argue but i do its toooo quiet in this house my youngest has no one to pick on any more lol

My son left yesterday for Great Lakes! I got my one phone call at 10 pm! Now the waiting starts. I know he is happy & he needed this change in his life. He will turn 21 when he gets out of boot camp! He will be a man!

Where are you from? I got my call at 10 as well, they probably got there together. It has helped me knowing all of these other families are going though the same thing at the same time & our kids are together becoming independent adults.

Well, my screen name IS savannahgal! But our son signed up in Athens, GA, so had to go up there and the recruiter drove him to Atlanta to get on the plane. Hope these kids get to meet up!
