Our son will be leaving for boot camp in January 2015.  Are there other moms out there who's son or daughter will be leaving for BC then?

I don't know how to do this! Have been in tears since woke up.  Today and tomorrow will be the hardest days of my life.  And that's all I can say right now.

I am exactly the same way today. (((hearthaven)))

We can do this for them, when I dropped him at the recruiter and he walked away it was a flashback of his first day of kindergarten!! One hour, one day, one week, one month at a time. Hang on momma we can do this, we have each other. And it will be PIR before we know it.

We've got this and so do they! Each moment, each day, brings us that much closer to PIR and seeing and hugging our babies again!!!!  That's how I'm getting through.

Brooke, that was exactly how I felt when my son left for the Air Force 2 years ago. He was so excited that all I felt was PROUD when he left. But yes, the crying spells come and go. It was harder with my daughter this morning. But she also is so strong and I am so proud of her. Will be praying for them all constantly.

My son leaves on 1/26.  I am so proud but so up tight its not even funny.  A great student, great young man and an Eagle scout and yet I am so worried he won't make it though basic......

My son is - but he doesn't fly out until January 21.  How are you guys doing whose recruits left today?

My Husband Is Heading to BC Jan.28 I Am Already Starting To Cry A Little. not in Front of him Don't Want Him to feel Sad or stressed out...
Hi heartheaven, my son left today from Jacksonville, FL but don't know what time hia flight was leaving. He text me around 1:4pm to let me know he was headed to the airport then I heard back from him again around 4ish. Where did your son leave from?

Viv: he left from Charlotte NC.  Finally got to O'hare around 10:30.  Got on bus to BC around 11:15pm.  It's an hour to BC from the airport on the bus (no talking, no sleeping).  He made his I'm Here call to me at 1:35am.  Don't think he has slept yet except on plane yesterday.  He said he would be up until 9/10pm tonight.  I'm just trying 'whoosh' him strength with my thoughts and prayers.  I know he'll be fine but I can't help but worry.  You know.  But there's not a thing i can do about it so guess I need to find a way to let it go.

Hi heartheaven,

Glad to hear your son made it safe. Yes it will be a long day for them for the first few days. My oldest is in the Army although I know each branch is different and you think I would be not as anxious, etc.. I can totally relate to the emotions, I have been crying since my son left yesterday and today I woke up with feeling a little under the weather so I stayed home. The anxiety is tearing me up. he's never been in cold weather,we live in Florida, so he has no idea of the below zero temps, snow. I pray for all our recruits, for their safety and that they keep strong through the most challenging times of their training. All we can do from afar is as you mentioned "whoosh" them strength with our thoughts and prayers!

I'm new to N4M. I'm not a mom but a girlfriend. My boyfriend left 1/6 and his twin left the same day. His girlfriend, their mom, and I have been talking on and off. Any advice would be appreciated. I decided to write letters everyday starting today. The bear in my picture was my Christmas present and it helps a lot to have it with me.
