My son leaves for boot camp on March 25 2014. Does anyone else have a son leaving then? He is flying there from Florida.

My daughter just left today :( Anyone else's child leave out of BWI today?

My son is currently sitting at BWI awaiting a 6:10pm flight to Chicago. He says there are 9 SRs flying together. They are currently sprawled out on the floor of the airport. "Last time we are gonna get to lay down and stretch out for a long time". He spent three semesters at VMI so has a lot of insight about the next few weeks.
We just spent the day at MEPS in Jax. It was a long day but we saw him get sworn in and got to hug him one last time. Now waiting for him to land in Chicago and send me a text.
Just got the text that they landed and now are grabbing a bite to eat. Praying I can get through the next 8 weeks.

My brother left yesterday from TX.  He will do boot and A school in Greater Lakes.  Cheers to the next 8 weeks!

My son left on 3/25 for Great Lakes.  He will be in Aviation Ordance. I haven't heard from him yet.  Really miss him as I'm sure everyone here misses their son/daughter.  The waiting is so hard.  I've been writing short letters every day and when he sends his address, I will mail them all to him.

My son left March 25 from Tampa FL. He is going to be Fireman Apprentice. He will stay in Great Lakes for apprenticeship After RTC. Missing him so much, can't wait for the first letter!

My son left on March 25 also.  I've written him four letters so far and will just keep pilling them up until I get his address.  I also had family and friends write him and his brother little notes of encouragement that I will mail individually so he gets several pieces of mail a day.  My oldest son just graduated Air Force basic on March 14.  He said the letters and notes where a HUGE part of him getting through.....just hearing anything from home.

I just went out and bought a bunch of cards. His birthday is coming up and also Easter. I also printed out 4 NCAA brackets so I can fill them in. His bracket is messed up just like most brackets. I'm praying he Can get through these next 8 weeks.

Hello, I just received my sons' box today (3/28).  I was hoping that the form letter would be inside, but no luck.  It is a strange feeling to see his clothes and things and no letter.  Hopefully will get that letter and info soon.  Hope everyone is hanging in there!

Got mine too. didn't realize my son had a scent until I opened the box and his essence came wafting out

Same here. After opening the box, I cried all over again. Hang in there!
