Thanks should go to Arwen, she's the one who created it, But Im glad I could share
Arwen has a lot of very good information; I've enjoyed reading her posts.
Yep, we love and treasure Arwen!! :-) God Bless our Navy Vets, especially those who happen to be Navy mamas too. :)
Same thing happened to my nephew, he was able to work some more on his math and took the test about 6 months later, and did so much better, He enlisted on the 20th of September.

Ya know Lori, my Sailor told me that in the training he's going through, one of the things he's had to learn to accept is that sometimes he's going to fail on the first attempt. Very hard for a competitive athlete who has always had a "be a winner, failure is not an option" attitude! However, he says his instructors are looking for guys who can pull back, evaluate, regroup and come up with a plan for success on the second go around, then make it happen. :)

That determination and character traits like perseverance will go a long way in the successful career of a Sailor. Sounds like your boy has the right stuff and his eye on the prize. =) I'm sure Drew will make use of those tools he's found (and sites like Betsy found for you-nice ones, might add those to our main DEP group discussions!) and have a better score/outcome next time. He has a goal to work towards and no doubt, he'll reach it soon. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your son. He's growing up quickly already!!

Loved that quote pmgcakes. Fair Winds and Following Seas to your soon to be a Sailor nephew...and all of our Oct Recruits!
Angie - love your comments; I will share with Drew.
Thanks everyone! I will share your words of wisdom w/Drew and the site links Betsy. ((HUGS))
Sorry to hear about your son's ASBAB test, I am glad that he is keeping his goal in site and realizing what his weakness is on the test and is willing to work on it, most kids would be discouraged and walk away. Kudos to the future sailor..... :o)
I disabled the emails by clicking stop following on most of my groups. I only am following this group now. But yes, I tend to go back over the conversations and reread. There is SO much good information, and this site particularly is valuable because I feel like everyone here is on (almost) the exact same page as me in terms of where our recruits are in the process of BC and MEPS and all else NAVY... :-)
Hi Nancy - I don't think we've met! Thanks for the tip - I'm going to Disable the notifications right now. Lori
Hi Lori,
I have been reading a lot and not commenting too much. It's all kind of overwhelming. My son lives out of town with his father and getting info out of him has been like pulling teeth. I teach at a year round school, out for a break after this week and want to go spend some time with him before the 26th!! OMG it is coming up SO fast...can't believe it!

I just read your comment below on entry tests. What are they? Oh...I just figured it out. the ASVAB tests. Well it's sucky that he didn't make it, BUT really encouraging that he was that close!! Fortunately I had the extra time to come back and make adjustments... :-)
