Ok girls....I haven't been on in a few days, so i did some catching up....took awhile you girls are busy.

Jeanne - your Ashleigh is wonderful, she has such an awesome head on her shoulders and so mature...you should be very very proud. I love the fact that she has shared some really personal feelings with us it has touched me deeply, I know that if my son "would" talk he would probably say things very similar to what Ashleigh has said...but you know how those darn boys are....give her the biggest hug from me.

OK to my other girls....I haven't booked a hotel yet so who has room for me? haha I don't talk in my sleep or snore that I know of so its all good. Seriously I have been putting all my energy and effort into Taylor's party (this Saturday) where did the time go, I have so many cases of water and soda that I look like I'm either stocking up for winter or preparing for a Hurricane....Taylor's friends came over the other day and said wow look at all that stuff, I told them there was a hurricane coming, didn't they hear....one boy, who is a very smart kid, said with a serious face, wow we have a bunch of canned green beans so I think we'll be ok....I cracked up and had to tell him I was just kidding he really looked concerned. So the party preparations are all set....hhhmmm, or I think they are I have the most wonderful sister who did a bunch of shopping for me today....gotta love a wonderful sister :o)

I have had tons of RAOC over the past day and a half, it just hits me like a ton of bricks, I pull it together and "wam" it sneaks up on me again. I tell myself everytime it happens that its ok and then I get up and walk again, I know eventually that I will just be walking and moving forward and everything will be fine, my biggest fear is the unknown.....darn crystal ball needs to start working...haha.

Anyway, thanks for being there to support and listen, you all hold a very special place in my heart.....keep strong...HUGS to all of you.
Elizabeth
thanks so much Elizabeth. I know how you feel. Sometimes I loose it when I least expect it.
Jeanne....That is a beautiful profile picture
thanks. Ashleigh took that at the school we both work at.
I was thinking how much i liked your picture! ha ha really though, I love dogs.
we have 2
Don't feel bad about the boys thing, I think I have a daughter with a boys brain lol, she feels the same way, Mom is way to emotional.

Donna
donna, do you have a daughter going in the Navy?
yes she ships Oct 27, It can't come fast enough for her, but of course to fast for me. She is going into AV. Maybe her and Ashleigh will end up in the same group. She has a really good head on her shoulders and by the sounds of it so does Ashleigh. Hopefully they can get together.

Donna
Donna,

My Adam is doing AV also. I bet if she's cute, he will make sure to meet her. LOL

Betsy
As Jen says she doesn"t have any time or room in her life for relationships, So hopefully they will be friends. I was glad to hear she was going to Pensacola, it is only 5 1/2 hrs from home. Every once in a while I threaten I'm going to move down there (I now have an empty nest also) just to pick on her and of course I get the look. lol So I will have to settle for visiting.

Donna
Just had my RAOC - I was reading the 10/05 ship date group, and boy it got to me. I thought I was doing very well, until I decided to see how the other Mom's were doing.... Most of them have gotten there "kid in the box", Division # and PIR dates. seems like in info is sent out pretty quickly....
Thanks Betsy...
Stephen told me tonight the recruiter is coming to our house on Tuesday to meet with the family, answer any questions we may have and give us information about what to expect at MEPS. Anyone else hear about that as well?
This will be his 2nd visit, I wasnt expecting it, but very happy he is coming. We have been very lucky with them. A few weeks ago the Navy Hockey Team from Annapolis came to Long Island to play one of our College's, My husband went and got to spend alot of time with Deppers, Recuiters, and Chiefs (it was my son's gf's college so we were busting her chops about who she was going to represent - she showed up with her "I love my Sailor Shirt") so anyway, Bobby did get a few answers for us, But Im sure this will be helpful to me, so I can understand exactly what will be happening with Steve when he leaves here on that Monday to head to the hotel...
