I thought it would be nice to start a discussion for our children leaving the week of October 25th 2010.  Welcome everyone.  Kathy

Thank you, Betsy, I am glad you understand. I didn't know about the vouchers. Brandon would like that. lol Kathy
Kathy, I'm sure Drew is more attached to my apron strings at 19 than he will be at 25. I think your son handling it his way is perfectly understandable given his age. Susan
Each of the kids had a $25 voucher to give the cab driver. Just a 10 min drive. 2-3 kids per cab. That is good pay for those drivers.
Drew was given a $23 voucher. Isn't that an odd amount! Susan
Oh you guys...I am reading your posts and smiling, what a sense of relief you are giving me you all sound so wonderful, excited and happy. Is this what I will feel on Wednesday, gosh, I sure hope so???? I went to buy Taylor a jacket tonight, we live in FL, so I felt he needed something during the traveling, I was at the cashier's just crying like a baby...hearing about everyones experience it almost sounds like a relief of finally moving forward, right now I just feel stick going neither forward or backward.....ugh!!! Elizabeth
P.S. - I am so excited for all of you I want to do a happy dance, however my husband would think I've lost my mind for sure :o)
Elizabeth, you are feeling the same way I was before he left. I think it must happen to everyone. I will be thinking of you and praying that you can stay strong and not too stressed when he leaves. I am sure after today I will begin the missing him a lot phase until we can get some letters or phone calls. Hugs. Kathy
Do a happy dance anyway. I love it!!!

I feel really good right now. I don't feel like crying. I may feel differently when she calls from GL. I hope she sounds just as good then.

I have a question...Do we now change our status to "Enlisted" rather than "waiting for bootcamp"?

I am so proud of myself...I uploaded MEPS pictures all by myself:)
I agree with you. I told my husband that I feel like a huge weight has been lifted. I think the anticipation of him leaving was worse than him actually going!! I know there will be more tears, but I'm good for the moment :) Susan
I have talked to Adam, Wendi and I'm very happy to say there were no tears. Just happiness in my voice.

I'm sure you will feel the same when you talk to Heidi.

Betsy
I think we will go over to the bootcamp site. We need to choose a name there while we are waiting for PIR news so that we all can find each other. I don't think the kids are actually enlisted until they switch their hats after battlestations.
Not me!!! Susan
After everyone's children leaves for BC this week we can invade the Boot Camp Moms group. lol. At least until our PIR group forms. Congratulations and Hugs to everyone who has stayed sane these many months. Now we have to stay sane the next 8 or 9 weeks. Kathy
