Phoebe - sounds like S is in the same DIV as Elizabeth's son! That is awesome - congratulations :-) Its so good for the rest of us to hear a child is doing well as it gives all of us some hope that ours are too. Thanks for sharing with us!
The Box! Hurray - I got A's yesterday too. I haven't opened it yet though as my other son and A's GF are coming over to open with me but they both work a lot so we are trying to coordinate a time. ((HUGS))
On the RTC facebook page they have posted pictures of todays graduation (or I guess yesterday now). It is very cool:0 I can't wait.

Phoebe....I sent you a private message, when I logged on this morning and saw your new name I got so excited that I didn't read last nights post....YES, YES, YES, our boys are together it sounds like they are both doing well and happy with their divisions. My "T" had a pretty high score on his ASVAB, he mentioned when they got to GL that they were all questioned on their ASVAB score, if they had passed the initial PT in DEPS and if they could swim and then at that point they split them into divisions, my son does not play an instrument or sing....but I believe if someone told him to hold a flag he could hopefully he could hold a flag and march with it....I probably would have myself tangled up in the flag rolling around on the floor. Look forward to hearing from you.
Elizabeth
I just want to say "I love you guys" thank you so much for all of your support and caring words when I thought I was dangling off of a cliff....I look forward to continuing this journey with all of you.....you are my "ROCK"
Elizabeth
Thank you! There's a lot of stuff here. I'm not normally a forum person but at least I know someone feels, thinks, etc. the same way I do right now.
Hi, everyone.
My daughter flew out on the 28th. I'm not much of a forum person either but I am going crazy with worry. I am going to go back and start reading. I think I stopped by several months ago but became preoccupied with everything.

Gosh I hope I hear from her soon. I just want to know she's ok.
No call from her. She played the clarinet in high school and we discussed her "volunteering" for the performance divisions. I said she should do it. I don't think she hadn't completely decided but I have a feeling she would have said yes, if asked. I live in Houston. It's too early to expect my box? How is it shipped?
Welcome, Brittsmom, I live in Corpus Christi and got my box this morning. B shipped out on the 25th. I guess it might take a while for us Texans. Their PIR group is already formed called PIR 12/10/2010 but the date may change. We are still waiting to know. The moms here are wonderful and I am so glad we could share this experience together. I am glad you came by and you will always be welcome. K
So he mailed his stuff home after all? Susan
Hi Brittsmom, Welcome :) Susan
Got this quote off the internet on a site that had the old song by the Kingston Trio about the USS Reuben James...

"I suggest anyone who thinks Sailors are cowards or has it easy has never served at sea or in the Navy. A person that leaves the soft life of a civilian to serve in any branch of our Armed Forces is deserving of respect.

Samuel Johnson said it best "Every man thinks meanly of himself for never having been a Soldier or never having been at sea, The profession of Soldiers and Sailors has the dignity of danger and mankind reveres those who have gotten over fear which is so general a weakness."
