I thought it would be nice to start a discussion for our children leaving the week of October 25th 2010.  Welcome everyone.  Kathy

I am cracking up reading your posts tonight. I vote for a snuggie too. A bright pink one. We all need to pick a time of the day and go to chat. That would be hilarious. It seems alot of the recruits think they are finished studying. Brandon is the same way. He just wants to leave already. He did ask me to check and see if anyone failed out because they couldn't do all the pushups required. lol. I haven't heard anyone not passing because of pushups. Running yes. Last Dec 18 PIR had really cold, snowy weather. Check it out. I want to stay at the motel that is close to the mall. I don't remember which one it is but there are lots of good eating places there. Also some have mentioned having the greet and meet at a pizza place instead of the Ramada Inn. I am still trying to decide which airport to fly into. I heard Ohara is ok but Milwaukee is easier to get around. Oh, yes, if I find a stuffed snowman wearing a pink scarf at Walmart I will let you know. Have a good evening. Kathy
I agree about picking a time to chat. I think that would be great. We are driving up from NC. My FIL lives in Cincinnati so we will stop over with him to break the drive up. I think cold and snowy might be fun, although driving in it wont be!! Susan
Definitely a time to chat! I agree. I am catching up with all of your comments and just sitting here laughing. I am picturing all these women dressed in pink snuggies, carrying stuffed snowmen. Too scary. I will try to see if there are scarves online, that way we will be sure to get the same one.

Weather wise one comment I saw was minus 40 WITH the windchill factored in. That is why I am freaking out...slightly. I am not a good cold weather person, but I appreciate the how to dress info. I just worry about getting inside and being TOO warm with all the layers.
Betsy, good to know info about airports and driving as I am not familiar with the area. Do we need to get toll passes? Are they included with the rental?

AND...Here's a scarf link. It's at Target.

See what you think. We can order it online.
Have a good day tomorrow,
Nancy
I love this scarf!! Looks warm too and maybe if we get this we won't have to get the pink snuggie's :) Susan
I saw the scarf at the Old Navy today but I didn't get it because I couldn't remember if that was it. It's super cute everyone, we will love them.
I am hoping the weather wont be too bad this year. I am driving from Cleveland so our weather is similar to that of GL. The past few years have not been too too terrible in Dec, however if it was Jan i would be very worried !!! I have heard so many rumors regarding the PIR i gave up on trying to book too early, i guess we wont know a thing til that envelope comes in the mail :(
Aim- Here's a link to the PIR forum...lots of good info and a place we can ask questions:

The PIR for dummies (if I remember it right) is particularly helpful.

Have a good day,
Nancy
I still have to order mine. Did you order the other one too? Susan
Betsy did you get ur books yet?
Have a Great Day.
Lori, I had noticed the post-count myself..I agree it DOES say something about how connected we are becoming. I will book hotel for the residence inn tomorrow, as long as changes are viable.

Love the idea about clothing from Walmart, I also thought I would check the almanac, usually it's pretty close in its predictions.

Have an AWESOME trip with Adam, I am trying to do something like that with Ian, but he is still working so it's a little difficult. I think he should quit for his last week, but I also think it's complicated as he is working for his girlfriends mom's company...LOL.
