For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Liberty during Bootcamp
Hello All! Hope all is well!
I tried to look but i couldn't find any answer. Can somebody tell me if they ever get liberty during bootcamp? I think they get Sundays off, but are they ever allowed to leave the camp?

Oh, got it. Thanks as always for your response! We don't have the exact graduation date yet, but he leaves for bootcamp May 17. We're guessing it would be around July 20. :)

You have asked a very valid question. One that I've never seen asked before. I also appreciate that you tried to look the answer up before posting the question. They may have Sundays "off" from actual formal training, but they have many things to accomplish in a short amount of time (ironing, church services if they want to attend, letter writing, cleaning...the list goes on.
Their first "Liberty" is right after PIR (graduation). I hope your able to attend PIR, it is amazing.
Don't be afraid to ask questions...the only "dumb" questions are the ones not asked, in my opinion.

Make sure he takes a calling card and knows how to use it. Put phone numbers and addys in his wallet (along with a few bandaids) also he should take his cell phone with the charger to use along the way and to make the last call with

You're very welcome!!! Go back to pages 4, 5, 6 for info about what to take. I always post that info at the beginning of the month and try to repost it every week or so.

Great advice about the calling card. Costco sells them very cheap. Be sure that you ACTIVATE the calling card BEFORE he leaves for bootcamp. The pay phones at BC eat up at least 30 minutes on the card just to activate it, and trust me, the recruits don't have that kind of time!
There have been posts about free calling cards, I just can't remember where I've seen them.
