I have been asked to coordinate & help plan a Meet & Greet for families of 12/3/10 PIR sailors. Any and all input is greatly appreciated. I will be emailing my nephew who is a naval reserve officer for possible locations close to the base that we could meet at the evening before graduation. Hope to see all of you there:)

Thanks DodieMatt'sMom! I saw the Navy Lodge online, I am trying to book a package deal with hotel & car. Unfortunatly, the Navy Logde doesn't do packages. Thanks though! I will post a comment in BC group! Thanks again!
we are going cheap..staying at the Days Inn, they r usually clean, have complimentary breakfast and is the one west of the base, Libertyville..straight run to the base. we are driving up and will be there in time for the M&G...all i care about is the room is clean, hopefully we will be spending most of our time with our Sailor, not in the room...
We are staying at the Navy Lodge, $65/night. We are interested in joining the N4M M&G
A lot of people are staying at the Navy Lodge. $65 a night, but a 20% discount for Dec 3 to Jan 4. They will give you the discount when you check out. I got a room with a full kitchen and 2 queen beds for that price. I will be the only person in the room.
We had originally booked at the Ramada Inn because of the Meet & Greet but you do not have to be a guest there to attend and found that the Navy Lodge is actually much cheaper and has a kitchenette that will help wilth the cost of eating out.
I am new to this site and looking forward to learning more. My son is ship 09 div010 for any other mom's out there. I will gladly do whatever I can to help with the meet and greet. I will be there Dec 1. So just let me know what. Love all the info!
Hey there! Here's a tip. If you go into your Account settings and add your son's Ship and Div to your name, you are likely to find more people in the same "boat"
Hi Dodie.. I will be there with my husband,, youngest son and my Mom.. Thank You !!

Dawn
orbitz has great rates for hotel & rental car. I hear so many stories about how the Liberty weekend with Sailor's is sooooo much easier with a rental car! Just a thought to keep in mind ladies! I wish the Navy Lodge had package rates with a rental car! Sounds great like a great deal at the Navy Lodge with the kitchen! A great deal when travelling with family! I will be going solo & selfishly happy I'll have my Sailor all to myself! awe* I miss my husband! Maybe it's a good thing I won't be at the same hotel! hahaha! I will be arriving Dec 2nd mid day & possibly staying after PIR (He might be staying at Great Lakes on a waiting list until school opens up!), if anyone lives in the Chicago/Great lakes area let me know, I might be there for a few weeks & would love the company! More concrete details to come about that! I hope to meet you all at the M&G at the Ramada Inn the night before PIR! Counting down the days! (P.S.) My SR husband tells me that our loved ones in Ship 09 DIV 016 have been awarded Thanksgiving off to go to a host family for dinner! WOO HOO! Way to go SR in Ship 09 Div 016! Wish I could be there on turkey day! Looking forward to PIR!! ~E
my husband is also on ship 9 div16 i was glad that they got to go to church and all.... i just hope that he'll be there at the g&m that day.... cause he didn't want me to travel by myself due to "saftey" reasons and all but luckily i found someone to go with me but i still would have gone by myself regardless... hope to see you there
Hi all...looking for several people to help w/making nametags for us for use at the Meet & Greet. Ideas? Maybe some sort of name tag with our names as well as our N4Ms name, SR's name, city/state...
