OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Navygirlfriend, It is possible for some who arrive on the same date to have PIR a week apart. Wait on The Form Letter to know the PIR date for sure. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is happening and what to expect.

Check your My  Page.

Navygirlfriend.

wait for the letter, it can be different with all sailors.

with each divisions

his division is: ship 03 Division 157.

okay thanks

NuclearMOM, There are no tentative PIR dates on form letters. The date on The Form Letter is the PIR date. Make your reservations and let your recruit know that you are looking forward to seeing him in his dress blues on 04/15/2016.

I left info for you on your My Page.

Thank you Lemonelephant

his is ship 03 Division 157.

Tentative I know, but anything could happen. weather, sick, injury. lets pray all goes well and it will be on the schedule date.

making plans and reservations.

Thank you.

NuclearMom, DIV 157 is scheduled to have PIR on 04/15/2016. That is set and will happen, barring some sort of major disaster, which is unlikely.

Weather will not change that date.

Yes, your recruit could become sick or injured and go to the RCU and be placed in a later TG or even sent to SEPS and sent home, but you should not be expecting those things. You should make plans to hug your brand new US Navy Sailor on his PIR date of 04/15/2016 because there is nothing tentative about that date. That is the date that the US Navy expects him to have PIR at this time.
