Thanks Susie! I'm gonna get one today!
Josh finishes A School soon and has been chosen for Riverine. He will be in Rivron II squadron and they are in Iraq at the moment. He will have combat school for 2 or 3 months in MS. He is a happy Sailor!
Kim do you know how long their rotations are? Wonder if he will join them there or meet them when they get back.
Joyce, He'll be in training for quite awhile and join up with them when they get back- for more training :-)
Congratulation to Josh! How exciting for him.
michael got his verbals today and he will be part of the Riverine Squad 2. what in the world does that mean?
My son has orders for Riveron Squad 2 as well. He leaves GL FINALLY on Sept 10. Will be home for two weeks then off to Gulfport, Little Creek, and Camp LaJune.
Congratulations to your sailor and you. Our son Devin is wanting to get into Riverines also. You will have to keep me posted on his progress there. Devin should be done with ATT this week then probably on hold for A school.
Joyce, I'm so glad he's finally gonna get to start his career! I'm sure you're relieved and he's raring to go! My son Ben started out in Gulfport, but most of his detachment didn't- they went to Little Creek first, then back to Gulfport. Makes it hard for us Moms to have accurate info to pass along, doesnt' it,lol?
Robin,Justin is in riveron 2 also.He says all the guys from Great Lakes are in the same hallway and rooms. He seems to like it so far and seems to be doing good.
Hi susie, Joyce and J from O. And Hello to e-one else.Been a while on for me so doing some catchup-or trying anyway.Well my good news is Justin came home the 10th and will be home with us until the 26th. I was on cloud nine when i saw him strolling toward me in the airport, and yes the tears did flow lol. And the greeting he got from the volunteers with the u.s.o. at the airport put a proud grin on his face. They are great people, I am going to talk to someone about volunteering myself soon.really a nice thing they do for all the military coming through. He was their only sailor that day so the veteran sailors were tickled to see him. But anyway, when he leaves here on the 26th he is going to Gulf port Mississippi for 26 days and then on to Little creek, Virginia for his stationed base. He showed me a pamphlet on the riverines the other day and it seems to detail more than what I thought it was.Kinda scares me but it's what he chose to do and I try to support him the best I can even though I am a bundle of nerves inside. He's excited tho so I try not to let him know I worry but think he knows.well, anyway just wanted to say hi to all and fill ya in on whats going on with him.Glad to have this site to share with everyone.
Oh, forgot- how do I go about posting pictures on here such as you all have next to your comments or just posting them in general? Don't quite have that skill yet but want to learn.
