Just thought I'd share this with everyone.... My SR had his 7 day meeting at the recruiters this AM. As he sold his car at the weekend I had to take him and go back for him. When I got there he wasn't ready so I went into the recruiters to wait for him. Upon entering the recruiters clapped and cheered me! I was a little nervous at first - not sure where this was going. Apparently they had asked my son how I was coping and if he was keeping me informed. To which he replied "I don't need to keep her informed - she knows more than I do about BC and PIR because she's a member of Navyformoms.com". The recruiters then quizzed me on a couple of things and I was able to answer their questions. It was all light hearted of course but after we left the recruiters I took my SR for lunch and he told me over lunch that he was very proud of me for getting myself "in-the-know"!
Thanks to everyone for all the very valuable information.
WOW!! Great job mom. It's always nice to hear positive news and feedback.
Ditto. I am posting a link to this on the Momma_Bear Discussion.
That is awesome, what a wonderful son you have not only for his willingness to join the Navy and serve our country but for being a strong young man and expressing his pride in you. When my daughter got out of bootcamp and she found out how much i had learned on this site and realized I knew more about her rate and what to expect in A-school she was totally shocked. Then when she was in the first two or three weeks of A-school and waiting to phase up and then going to classes she called me more than once to ask me questions and actually told me to ask my NavyMom friends when I didn't know. This site is a great source of information and I am blessed to have found it and to have made so many wonderful friends. It really is amazing how many people are willing to go out of their way to help complete strangers :-) Thanks so much for your post!!!
You GO, mommaross! HOOYAH! You "represented" well! Thinking you will make a great N4Moms veteran when you are done with bootcamp. Keep that in mind, ok?
will do - thanks
Wonderful...my son had he 7 day meeting and his last DEP meeting this afternoon. I told him that I "met" you today on this forum, and he was intrigued that I knew someone else that was going the same day that he is even if they aren't from our area.
My son too - he wants to know your sons name - although they may never met he said it would be cool to know his name just in case. My sons name is Ross.
My son's name is Jonathan. There is no other recruits leaving for Niagara Falls that day. His buddy from school left today. I love that boy like he were my own kid. Jonathan was supposed to leave with his friend but there was so delay in Jonathan's paperwork and it delayed him 5 days.
Is Ross ready? I still haven't gotten Jonathan is phone card yet.
No he's not ready at all. Yesterday he spent the day fishing in the Gulf of Mexico with a buddy and today he's golfing with 3 other guys. I told him we have to spend the day tomorrow getting phone cards, POA's etc. :)
I started on some things today but I think I will finish tomorrow. I have to do the phone card. I got him his meds today. Apparently he ran out. Good luck! :)
