For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My first born is leaving on March 29th.
OK, he's a bit older and lives far from me already. But I still miss him and I will be praying for him everyday that he is in BC. Anyone else leaving March 29th?

My son, Tyson, arrived last night as well. His wife got the call but she texted us when he called. Our situation is a bit different as our son will be 26 next weekend, he is married and, until last night, lived with his wife, our one and only sweet daughter-in-law, in Missouri. We are in Washington state. : (
So, we were missing him BEFORE he left for boot camp! Consequently, I am doing fine.
How about you? Is this the first time leaving home for Josh?

Hey, don't know how I missed this message until now. But here I am! So, is Tyson set for PIR on 5/25 or 6/1? Josh is on 5/25. Still no letter other than form letter. :)
All set for PIR, we have our airfare and hotel booked as well as a reserved rental car -altho I might look for a better deal on that.
No, Josh did the sleep away camp thing for several summers as a teenager - some of which I got to see him for since I spent some of those weeks as the camp nurse - and we NEVER got letters from him then either so I can't say I'm surprised this time - just hoping "no news is good news"!
He also did one year of "college" in which he floundered - and likely partied - the whole time. But, in both of those situations, we were able to call/text/email him at least once a week. This is weird!

I got my first letter from Tyson today!! I was so excited....it was totally worth the rainy walk to the mailbox! It was a short letter but he said he has been assigned an important job in the division...a senior job, yeoman. I looked it up and it is clerical....maybe mail sorting and delivering? Not quite sure. Anyway, I knew he's be in a senior position, being that he is older than most there.
He is set to graduate on the 1st of June, so I guess I will miss meeting you by a week! : (

Yup, it looks like Josh is in the last division (162) from the people who arrived at the end of March and will PIR on 5/25. I wish we were on 6/1. Josh's older brother could have attended then but not on 5/25 :(

Ty said in his very short letter that he had change divisions at the last minute. I see we are no longer in the same division...that must be why.
It's a bummer that your other son can't attend. Tyson's younger brother (our only other child) can't come either, though he really wanted to.
