My boy turns 18 here in a few days...  This will be the first ever birthday that we do not celebrate together and I hope he is handeling it better than his brother and I am...

Happy birthday to all the other kiddos out there who are celebrating during bootcamp!

Awww! I hear ya! Today is my sons 19th birthday. I'm really missing him today! He left on 8/23. I can't even send a card until I get his address. Kind of stinks. We did celebrate before he left but its hard to not even get to talk to him on his special day. I guess a lot of them do it and they manage. I'm sure ours will too!

My son will be celebrating his 21st bday at boot camp/ first one without family. Makes me sad
Its hard I know. I just keep thinking they don't really have the time to be sad about it so that is a good thing.
That would be awesome!! I've heard such a large variety of time frames for receiving the letter so I expect the worst and hope for the best!
Same here my son has a birthday in September as well. It's true it's probably another day in BC but to me it's the first birthday I do not get to celebrate with my son. Some might consider it a "special" birthday since he is officially out of his "teens". Will probably send a generic I miss you card and write happy birthday on it so that I don't draw any attention to him. Do any of you know if they (RC's)read their mail?

Nobody reads your Recruit's mail without permission.

And fwiw, we inundated our Recruit with birthday mail for the 2 weeks leading up to the actual day. No repercussions.

I got my box!!! It's the first step ladies!! No letter but I really wasn't expecting one. I wrote this somewhere else so I apologize if you read this already but I wanted to make sure you ladies (JamieA and Timsmom97) knew I got it since we had been talking about it for about a WEEK!!! LOL! I'm sure I'll calm down eventually. Now I'm on the look out for the letter!! Have a good day everyone!

Hi NNLori! I saw that you posted it on the bootcamp group Lol. I'm so happy you got yours already. And also Happy 1week to us! lol

Oh and btw if you want to follow the PIR October 20, 2017, im already in it. I just want to let you know that they have one already :)

I've been looking at it. I haven't joined yet, I'm waiting for the letter to confirm his PIR date. As soon as I know for sure I will join!!

NNLori, Do you have a FB account? I'm already on the RTC group they are active and very helpful too!
