Sometimes we I get our ETs and FCs confused or simply not sure which sailors are what rate so it was suggested that we start a new list so if you don't mind signing in to the the appropriate forum...I won't call your sailor an FC, if you don't call my sailor an ET!!! :-D

My Sailor is an FC, named Nick and he is currently in C school @ Dahlgren

We have found the phone reception to be much better in Dahlgren than GL. Almost hated talking to Nick when he called from GL but seldom run into an issue in VA. Perhaps it's the cell provider and/or towers that they have in the area.

They do stay busy at this school and sleep time seems to be very valuable to them :-) What shift is Danny's class now? Nick is on midnights so he will usually call early when he is just getting out of class, his morning he yawned so much thru the phone call - I said please go get some sleep!
Dan's classes are actually midnights as well....he doesn't sleep hardly at all! I feel so bad for him!
Peg - is Danny in DamnNeck or Dahlgren?
My Sailor is an FC, named Jason and he will be starting A school @ GL
Hey Mary, we did discover that Dan and Ryan are friends and in class together. I also showed him Nicks picture and he does not know him. Phone reception here has been awful on Sprint, but Ryan switched to AT&T and has good reception.
Yes, sounds like Dan and Ryan are both in the Networking class so they probably do not cross paths unless they are in the same duty section. We use AT+T and it's been great in Dahlgren but not so good in GL, we use to tell Nick go stand by a window or something. Could hardly understand a call from GL.
Hi everyone! My son has been in the Navy for 3 1/2 yrs. He is an FC2 currently deployed in the Northern Arabia Gulf. :( I miss him terribly. He didn't come home on leave before he deployed, so the last time I saw him was a year and a half ago. He went to visit his girlfriend that he met in Great Lakes while he was in training there (mom doesn't matter much, right??). He is stationed at Pearl Harbor (rough duty, huh??). Hopefully he will be home soon. He is on the USS Paul Hamilton. I am so grateful for modern technology, it makes it much easier to communicate with him and this forum is also an added bonus! Thanks for being there, ladies.
Ohhh those darn girlfriends!!! LOL I will ground my son if he goes off to see a girl instead of coming home to see his mom!!! Welcome to the group Suzy, glad that you found us
Hey Kandie, my son just finished ACNT end of Oct and it took him 9 months. I think its one of the longest FC C schools.
You will need to plan a visit to historic Williamsburg while you live in the area and you are not far from DC - which has so much to see. Also there is a commuter train out of Northern VA (I think McLean, VA) that will take you into DC, I would recommend it as traffic in DC is a mess and parking is very limiting. But school is pretty intense there so you will need to keep providing all that wonderful support to him Heather They also rotate the classes; days/afternoon and mids but he will be in one shift for a very months before they move to the next shift. Also very small classes --- there was only five students in our son's class and three of them were 1st class sailors back from the fleet.
Heather, Ryan spent much time in Fredricksberg which was the nearest town to Dahlgren. Very nice little town. I agree with Mary the traffic to DC was awful especially back to Fredricksberg on Fri afternoon. He said there were lots of places to fish and hike and Norfolk and the beach were I think about 2 hours away. Lots of history in the area. He had class evenings and midnights but did not have any days while he was there. I believe there were 12 in Ryans class, 6 of which were sailors back from the fleet.
Hey there I am getting set to move to Dahlgren also when is everyone headed there?
