Sometimes we I get our ETs and FCs confused or simply not sure which sailors are what rate so it was suggested that we start a new list so if you don't mind signing in to the the appropriate forum...I won't call your sailor an FC, if you don't call my sailor an ET!!! :-D

My Sailor is an FC, named Nick and he is currently in C school @ Dahlgren

Hello Ladies! My son is in GL finishing up the first half of ATT then hopefully not on hold too long before FC A school starts.
Cathy, is your son finishing ATT this week? Maybe he is in class with my son. J...lives on the Porter, how about your son?
My son is an FC, completing his first ATT school today or Monday. Hoping to begin A school soon, but expecting to be on hold. I look forward to learning more and more about this rate.
I guess I should have read the last replies before I posted. I realize I am not the only one with sons, husbands, boyfriends, etc. on hold. It is nice to know that we are not alone!
Nope Denise, you are not alone in this! The holds are improving each week so you may find that it is not too long for your son.
Ryan just got assigned to the USS Arleigh Burke. He has to do C school for Tomahawk first in Damneck but he has follow on orders for Norfolk so we'll be in that area for a good long while.
My son is on hold in GL for A school for FC. He is soooo excited to be an FC even if he has to wait a while. It is great t hear the excitement in his voice. Maybe it is due also the fact he has bc behind him and now in a dorm!
After talking to my sailor Tuesday evening, it sounds like 3 or 4 new A schools will be classing up in the next 2 weeks! YEA! I know the sailors are excited. Holds seem to be so hard for them.
Ok. so I just got letters from boot Camp my son said he was going to be a FC has not gotten official "orders" yet. So what's all that mean after "a" school in Great Lakes then where to? Where are most FC's stationed? his PIR is 19 Mar 10 WOOHOO!
Welcome to the land of FCs!!!

Once he graduates from A school, he will head somewhere else to C school which can run five to eight months. Location and length of C school is determined by the orders he gets at the end of A school but FC "C" schools are held in San Diego, Dahlgren, VA, DamNeck, VA.

After he completes C school - it's off to the fleet!
Thanks so much, I'm pretty excited. He grew up in The Norfolk area so DamNeck would be wonderful or anywhere really it doesn't matter.
Congrats on the FC rate. It's a lot of hard work but well worth it, according to the lads. It's a great rate!! The better he does in his class in A school helps when it comes time to "picking C school orders" Top of the class gets 1st pick etc.
Good luck on your journey, and remember we are all here to support you!
