Sometimes we I get our ETs and FCs confused or simply not sure which sailors are what rate so it was suggested that we start a new list so if you don't mind signing in to the the appropriate forum...I won't call your sailor an FC, if you don't call my sailor an ET!!! :-D

My Sailor is an FC, named Nick and he is currently in C school @ Dahlgren

Thank you so much Helen, I'm happy to be here!
My son Ian is an FC and is currently at Dahlgren. He is there until mid May and will then be stationed in San Diego. He is in a precom unit and awaiting the completion on the Michael Murphy. Any others out there with there sailor's awaiting that particular ship?
Nancy, I have not seen anyone within the group (yet) with Murphy orders. Have you started a Murphy group yet or joined the destroyer group? If you go to the destroyer room, it will tell you if there is a group in place yet, if there is not and you start one. Let me know and I will list it as started so others can find it. I'm the admin for that group.
BR549 - Welcome from a newbie FC-to-be's Mom! My son PIR'd on 2/26. Thankfully, I am learning a whole lot from this group as my son waits for A school over on the main side of GL. Is your son excited about his FC rate? My son sure is, not to mention just finally being in the Navy as he was a depper for nine months. Have fun @ graduation weekend - it is awesome:)
Thanks, Yes he's very excited I haven't actually talked to him, I'm waiting on my "I'm a Sailor" Call right now. Very nervous. AND I'm very excited about this weekend :)
ok, Well we got all Graduated on Friday and he's moved into USS Enterprise at Great Lakes - So Does anyone know about how long the holds are for att school? and then for "A" School He's really excited!
Hi BR549 - I know the hold times vary, but for a point of reference, my son graduated on 2/12 and started ATT on Friday (3/19). One of my son's friends (grad same time) classed about 1 week before, so maybe 4-5 weeks? I also keep hearing hold times are improving, but I really don't know for sure.
My son had about a 3 week hold between ATT and A school. The long hold was for ATT. He graduated BC 9/18/09 and started ATT the last week of November and completed around 12/15/09. I also have heard hold times are getting shorter but I really don't have any comparison to other holds. In fact I had never heard the word "hold" for school until he joined the Navy. I keep learning everyday. He has not complained much about holds but I can tell his is ready to move on. And to think he has the other half of ATT after A school. That could be another hold for him. It is called "hurry up and wait". But that is the Navy.
Connie - Wow, that was a long hold for ATT. That just shows how all these holds and class lengths vary.

BR549 - Forgot to say "Congrats!"
BR 549 - my son is on the Enterprise, too. He graduated 2/26 and is still on hold for ATT & A school. He says that they aren't given any idea of when they will class up but to expect a long wait.
Thanks everybody for the info. I guess it's just all a wait and see thing.
Does anybody have any idea how long the wait will be to start "A" school my son PIR was on 19 March so he's on his second week of cleaning anything and everything. just wondering?
