For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

My son is leaving November 18th...
...and I know that there are a few moms who have kids going in within days of that. Makes me wonder if they will all have the same PIR?? If so, we should definitely get to know one another!!

My son lost 70 lbs in order to go, so i feel confident that he is committed to his choice to serve. We spent last night watching a movie and painting stemware!!! He was a little resistant at first; but then he had fun with it! I plan to use that glass for the next two months!

Yep, I'm up making breakfast this morning...I usually don't do mornings or breakfast for that matter, but I just really want to today. So happy to have my boy all to myself today!!!

My son is so close to his maximum weight that he cant even enjoy some good home cooking! Been cooking without salt; all fresh vegetables, etc. but i want him to leave without worrying he overate. He helped me clean out cabinets today! I can tell he is starting to realize that all the comforts of home are only for a few more days.

Robbin - same here re: close to max weight. I had him help me make the menu this week so it was all healthier foods but still homecooking and stuff he likes but yeah, no early Thanksgiving dinner here either. Tonight's dinner was a big green salad with chicken and lots of veggies

Hi. My son left on 11/18/15 too. We live in Houston TX but I'm originally from Chicago. I got my call letting me know he made it and he was sending the cell phone back home. Just waiting for his address so I can start writing. I'm sad it snowed so soon after he got there, boot camp is hard enough without adding snow to the mix. Some of the kids that left with him just wore shorts and a t shirt so I hope they got their uniforms/gear by now. My son wore jeans and a heavy jacket so he should be ok. Anyway, I hope to keep in touch.

Martha-We worry about things like snow and the young adults there probably are a little exited by it. Well, they will be for a little while anyway hehe. From everything I've read and watched, they process the incoming recruits quickly. Stripping them of whatever they wore there and outfitting them with the proper attire they need to function and survive in Great Lakes. I know it's easier said than done, but try not to worry too much. They're being handled right now for lack of a better word...and when we see them again in 8 weeks they are going to be so full of pride and obedience, it's going to knock our socks right off!!! We have to let them do this. My advice is to read as much as you can... learning about what they're doing helps. And know that YOU are not alone. We are all right here with you and we will offer you support in whatever way we can. Okay, I needed that pep talk lol. I'm off to light my blue candle :)
