Why can't I stop crying.  I'm so proud of him and excited for him, but feel such a strong sense of loss.  It seems so permanent, since he really will be gone.

My son just left on Tues. I jump when the phone rings- We wonder and wait for his box, then his letter. Very proud of our son.

my son leaves this coming Tuesday and I'm very proud of him too.  We should be proud of all our sons and daughters.

Yes my emotions flip/flop  happy, excited, sad, crying.  I'm very thankful for this site too!

My daughter is leaving Wednesday for boot camp and is the baby of four girls (a twin at that). I can’t stop crying either. I’m so proud but feel like I’m losing her. I try not to cry in front of her or the other girls, but as it gets closer it gets more difficult. I’m so glad to know I’m not alone!

Hi Debbie, beleive me it is quite natural to feel this way, My Son left right after High school graduation July 5th to be exact, I also thougth I was ready for this, but you never really are. My son was the baby and he never really was the type to stay out unless he went to camp. I tell you what I thougtht I was in Mourning, I cried every time he came to mind, everytime someone mentioned his name, my Husband and daughters and Supervisor did not know what to do, I was a total mess. I was afraid to join Navy Moms thing these Ladies would think I am crazy, but I had no where to turn. come to find out all the Mothers were feeling the same way. just spend as much time possible together, let her know communication is going to be a little tight, but that you love her and to focus and be determined. there is no right  or wrong way as far as your feelings come. so if you need to cry it's ok. stay strong and know you are not alone!

I'm a mess already and have 4 months until he leaves.  Graduates HS in June, don't want to ruin all of the upcoming events by focusing on August, but I can't help myself.  So glad we're not in this alone.

4Roses92 He has time to be sure he can meet the PT standards. If he has access to a pool that would help as well. Knowing he can pass his pt standards will take one burden off his mind.

Hi Debbie, glad to have you along. Please know you are not alone, we are here for you in every way. I help out on Boot Camp Moms. Come join us, and if there is anything I can do or answer please let me know.
