Well, that gives me a bit of a time frame. We didn't go to the airport with Jon. We left him at the recruiting station and headed home to make sure his sisters got to swim practice, cheer practice, etc. They are both in high school. When I wrote to Jon last night I told him his tough old bird of a mother hasn't cried yet. I haven't, but I've been very, very close. The worst was when I smelled his cologne in the truck he drove. No box or letter yet. For a second I had this huge fear that maybe he didn't know our address. Silly, but a typical mother-type fear. I broke down and called the recruiter a few minutes ago to get his ship and division so I at least know something. It's the lack of daily chit-chat that's the hardest. Jon's been away from home for weeks at a time on mission trips, but he could text or call. I'm not sweating the travel plans yet. We only live three hours away. I do want to know PIR - recruiter said probably the 17th - so I, and my staff at work, can plan holidays vacations and days off.
Got the box. No letter though. Did the form letter have his address?
Yes it did. Actually Ty had written the address in for the most part. He also listed the people who would attend his graduation, his graduation date and then on the back side of the two page form letter there's a place for Recruit's Comments! He had written a little there! I was so glad to see his message. It made me feel much better!
Jon's recruiter told me he's in Div. 036, Ship 07. Anyone else? How can I tell what type of group he's in, performing, etc? Suzi? I think that's you. What do you know about their group. anything?
Sorry, no. I don't know much of anything yet, other than ship and division. We did get "the box" today. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Now if only the letter would get here with the official grad date. Did you say that your recruiter said the 17th? Because when I looked at it our div wasn't on there. Can they still add divisions to it?
I don't think they do, but I also don't know. Seems once they post them they're final, unless the recruit gets sick, or can't get fitness passed or something. I'm all new to this. I bet it'll be the 22nd. Seems there were a lot of Dec. 17 grads out there. And that doesn't count all the people who don't use this site.
Just found out that my Daughter is in Ship 02, Division 904. Anyone else in this division?

Yes, sir. That would be my son's ship and division number.

My guy's also!

When does their leave start? Do you know?
