My son turned access to his wall off because he didn't want people sending him messages while he was gone! LOL
My son wrote an I'll miss you but I'm glad I'm moving on message! It was so final, as if he'll never FB again. I asked him in a letter for his FB access and password because one of his friends posted some dumb video I want to take down. Normally, I would just call or text him and let him know, but I can't now.And all of a sudden I see him as an adult, and in a way, more in need of an adult persona. Funny what less than a week can do to one's perception of their child.
What did you do with cell service? Jon's taking his account over after A school. I told him I'd pay that long and then he'd have to step up. In the meantime, I'm wondering if I should disable until boot is over or let it be. He'll have tons of texts and voice messages if I leave the service on, but that could be both good or bad. I'm stymied on that one.
If you keep posting a message every day, it will move everything down. You can also post on the wall that you are updating his site. Perhaps then, this friend will be more selective about what he posts on your son's page and if you know the friend really well, send him a private message from your FB to please leave welcoming messages for your son upon his return. Kim
I disabled service to my sons cell. I did it in case his phone got lost in the mail on its way back to us. I posted on his FB but some people don't seem to know what BC is.
ProudMom, I posted I am a Navy Mom on my son's site. Kim
Great info ladies. I left the phone on for now. It came home today in the box. I'm just imagining how jammed up it will be when he gets it back. I think you're right on the FB. I don't know the kid that well to call him and ask him to take it down. I know his mother but I don't want to tattle on her kid. I'm sure it will be fine.
By the time your baby comes home or gets access to the computer, there will be so many new postings, that one will fade away onto a distant page. I dont think they will have access to a computer while in boot camp and if they don't, that gives you a chance to post to his wall at least one time per days and within a few days, that posting will be gone. Kim
I have my daughters info to log into her FB account. I guess now when I log in there I am impersonating a member of the US Navy:) Too Funny.
Suzi, enjoy while you are on there! Kim
Mostly it is just so that I have access to the farming:) but who knows what kind of fun I could have with"her" page!
Hi Everyone. My daughter left on the 26th from Niagara Falls, NY. Got the call and the box. Looking forward to being able to send the pile of letters that is building up! I guess sometime the end of next week they will be able to get mail.
Wow, you already got the box? I thought it would take longer than that for some reason.
