I just talked to "D". He sounded fantastic. He said his division is leading the PIR for 12/17 and that his job will be to greet all of the officers at the door for graduation. He said this division will lead the 12/17 PIR ceremony. He said the PIR on 12/22 was not going to be a big deal and I should just come up for the 12/17 PIR becuase he gets 10 days leave right after 12/22 PIR. I am soooo happy. He sounded so mature, talking about personal finances and tax law and life insurance and the money he's going to get for college from the GI bill. It sounds like he has big plans!
Hang in there. I am sure you will hear very soon. We just got our PIR letter on Friday. They usually "say no new is good news". "D" said he was sick for a few days and that he didn't have time to write because he had to sleep more. Maybe he's got that cold that all recruits get - ricky crud.
Hang in there TysMom. You never know what may have popped up in his division. For example, someone in my husbands division acted up and therefore the whole division lost their phone calls. I didn't get a single phone call for an entire month. And yes, a lot of them get pretty sick. They are worn out, going non-stop and not eating the best foods. Just stay positive and make sure you share that positivity with your son. Letters are what gets them through this so write, write, write and make sure everything you write is positive...try and keep the saddness to yourself!
Any other moms/wives from 002/906 get the info that the PIR on 12/17 was being led by them and we should go to that PIR and not worry about the 12/22 PIR? I got kind of confused when he called yesterday.
My son also left on DEC. 26th. He gradautes Dec. 17th. He is Ship 04 Divsion 20. But he can leave with me right after graduation. said he would be released to me at 12 and would have to report to A school at 7 am on the 27th. We are from Louisiana
