My son left on 6/4/13--anyone else arrive at Great Lakes that evening?

I seemed to have searched the board, but can't find anyone who left for GL on the 4th of June. Just trying to connect with other moms. June 5th was awful; this is our youngest and we are pretty much empty nesters (Sr in college is never home ). I've already watched the video on the first 24 hours, I wished I didn't, it just made me feel worse. June 6th was a little better, but I just worry to much. Hoping this gets easier as the weeks go by, I definitely Amy not my normal happy self at work.

The graduation

Yes, PIR is on Friday unless there is a federal holiday at the end of the week that causes it to be moved forward to Wednesday orThursday. This year the 07/03/2013 PIR is on Wednesday. PIR Thanksgiving week is always on Wednesday.

I just joined the group, I want to post but I had to wait to be approved
My daughter left on June 4 th. I received her box yesterday , now just
waiting for a letter with her address , so I can write to her
I ran to the mailbox today hoping to find the letter. No such luck. Hopefully soon, time seems to be dragging.

My son left on June 4th. Div. 279 Ship 12. Just got the box yesterday (they tried to deliver it Monday but my daughter didn't hear the door).

Now that a few days have passed since you posted this, how are you doing? I wish you well!

Annette

I'm doing okay, anxiously waiting for an address and date. I am working 2 jobs for the next weeks, so I am afraid to miss his call. I guess I shouldn't expect it for at least another 2 weeks. I am a teacher during the day and then work for Cosmetic Company a few nights and weekends. obviously, we are not allowed to carry phones at either jobs. I am hoping he knows enough to call my husbands cell phone until school lets out in another week. I just feel so preoccupied and tense--definitely need a massage next week. Have you been keeping yourself busy?

My son left June 4th too.  I know exactly how you feel and he was are oldest and still have one at home not far behind and I would like to tell you that all is ok but NO I am totally having empty nest as well!  Day by day I keep telling myself.  Was hoping for a letter in the mail today but nothing.  The first week I wrote him every day.  This week it's been every other.  Watched the first 24hours film too.  It made me cry!  I'm sure all is well at least that's what I keep telling myself.

We seldom hear about someone being in P-hold before starting P-days although it does happen sometimes.

I see you have joined PIR 08/02/2013 TG 38 - 12 Divisions (277-286, 817 and 938); I also invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) there.
