My son left from New York State on Sept. 4th.  Received the call at about 9:00 that he was at GL.  Received his box on the 7th (Friday) and a surprise phone call on Sunday the 9th.  It was only 5 minutes, but so thankful for it.  Forgot to ask his division and ship.  Called his recruiter, but he hasn't called me back.  Looks like some that are in division 353 got to call.  It will be interesting to find out my sons division and see if he is in 353.  There is a facebook page for Navy For Moms too and someone has started a PIR 11/2/12 page too for all of the boys that arrived that first week of September and will graduate 11/2/12.  My son did tell me he was filling out the form letter on Friday and graduation was 11/2/12 as of that day.  Have a good week all.  Hope to see you on facebook.  That page is a little easier to navigate.

My son left on 9/4 as well.  He's a newlywed so his wife got the brief call and the box.  She also got a suprise call from him on 9/9 that lasted 5 minutes.  He kept reciting my new 911 address before he left, saying that's it, right?  I can't wait to get a letter from him.  I'm really not sad for him...I'm really proud of him.  I know BC will be hard but I believe in him.  He's a strong young man and he has always been up for a challenge.  This website has been loaded with info to help plan and know what to expect when we go to PIR.

Chrismom-if you got a call on Sunday then your son is probably in same division and ship as mine...ship 3 Div 353!

thanks. send me any info you can get and I'll do the same. I feel like a fish out of water and a little left out since his wife gets the info.  When she talks to him she is just so happy to hear from him.  I think I'll make a list of questions for her to ask him so we can get info that will help us make plans.

My daughter also left on the 4th of Sept. I am also proud and sad!! Did you get your box yet?

I got a call from my daughter on Sat the 8th and received a box yesterday on the 10th.

Did you ever locate any other Oregon recruits?

Yes!  there are a few! :)  I'm so glad my son gave me the pamphlet for this site.  I really believe it's what is getting me through this "blackout" phase!!!

haw are you doing JoMomma?

hello all.. Just joined NavyMoms.. My son left on 09/04 from Texas :-) I received his box of property.. But not a formal letter from Navy .. am i the only one??

If you have his recruiter's # you can call them to find out ship/div #.  I did and then received his form letter the very next day!  :)

KKB mom, I was searching for anyone with a love one that left 9/4/12.  My friends daughter also left that same day, she is new to this sight.  I am trying to find someone who might have some inspiration for her during this seperation.  I have been a member since 11/10 when my son left for boothcamp and this site gave me all the confort and information I needed to help my family through this transition.
