It's going to be a long 2-3 weeks before he calls again. :(

There was only one other boy going in the Navy! We were all there that day also...........I got the call at 2:55 am but Brandon called from his cell phone. I am so sorry that you didn't get the call that night. I would have just been a total wreck had I not finally heard from him. I of course wanted to know why the heck they were still at the airport at 10 pm ........do you know why they had to wait so long there?
I sent you a friend request with a message...............did you get your box yesterday or today?
Yay! I am so glad I found you on here. I wanted to introduce myself that day but I didn't want to interrupt your family time. It was emotional for all of us! I didn't want to leave that day but we had to get back to get our other boys.
I have been told by many that the military operates on a hurry up and wait schedule! My guess is that they were waiting for all of the recruits to arrive in order to bus them off at the same time, but who knows!
Have you received the form letter yet? I am dying to write him a letter...it can't get here fast enough!
I apologize! I was so wrapped up in my own family but I did notice that your son came in to eat his lunch and that he was alone. We drove up to Columbus the night before and spent the night, took Brandon out to dinner. Our whole family ended up going. I changed my mind after initially saying we would just drive out the day of swearing in, but I got to thinking about traffic (its almost a 2 hr drive from our house) and I was freaking out that if we got caught in traffic or something and missed it.......I would not have been a happy camper at all. Especially since he left with the recruiter the day before while I was at work.
I got his box on Tuesday but no letter yet. If my guess is correct, we should get something by Monday?
I sent you a friend request too. My name is Sherri. Where are you from? You can private msg me if you don't want to post personal info on the thread.
I hope your son and mine got to know each other since they sat together for so long.......
My son arrived at GL on 9/12 also. He sounded tired and I'm sure he was since he had been up since 4:00AM. But since he is 18 I'm sure he can adjust. I'm adjusting ok. Just waiting for that letter with the PIR and mail address to arrive.
Yes, they are tougher than we give them credit for (especially when mommy's not there). :)
Oh, so sorry you missed the call! At least you have the message. My son called Sunday also. He said things were good, so I'm doing much better now. His dad (my ex) needs to send documents to them for the security clearance. I'm a little concerned about that. That was the reason for the call. He gave me his division number but still no address.
Some ratings, such as CTN, require a higher security clearance. Don't worry about that. They will look at the info submitted by your ex and hopefully it will meet acceptable standards for his rating. If not, they will work with him to find a rating that he is eligible for.
I see from another post that your SR is in Division 367. Join the group, PIR 11/09/2012, to connect with others with loved ones training with your SR. Know that divisions 367 and 368 are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 together, so watch for others with loved ones in either division.

Hi Alisha! Our sons left together. I sent you pics.
Well, my son's "Box" arrived. Hope that letter comes soon.
