For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

dband5... my son also started August 21, i know how you feel. I thought Day 2 would be better but its not! I sat down and wrote him this morning even though i cant mail it yet. It did help a little. I have 3 boys but he my first to leave leave! Here if you want to talk!!

Thats funny! I wrote Brandon too :) My name is Donna. Brandon is my baby of 5..My oldest son also joined the Navy 11 yrs ago however is no longer in..Some reason I thought this would be easier..OMG was I wrong! I guess because he's the baby. Well same here I'm here if you ever need to talk too.

well i thought since i had been through this with my husband i would be able to handle Kyle leaving but its so different than when my husband was in BC. I was SOOOO wrong!! I actually had a moment yesterday where i forgot he was gone and called out for him up the stairs. When it hit me he wasnt here, i lost it!! Did you get the safely arrived call tues night? Id be curious if they are in the same group or ship or DIV i should say,lol!

Yes we got the call..Is your husband still in? My hubby is retired..That would be nice if they were in the same div. Where did Kyle leave out from? We live in Cleveland Tn near Chattanooga and he left out of Knoxville.

My son, Kaulin, also started on the 21st. He left from medford, oregon. It took him forever to finally get to bc. This has been the hardest thing I have ever been thru! He's my oldest and has never been away from home. So I was out of my mind with worry when he left. I did get his box yesterday, but no letter yet!

Its hard I know. It's our job to be out of our minds I think. I went through this with my husband when he joined the navy but it was totally different. I kind of don't expect we will get letters till the end of this coming week. :(
