FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

My son started boot camp tues Aug.21st ...Anyone else have a son/daughter start that day? 2 days and I miss him so much already!!

Paula..either our boys are standing side by side or they are so much alike..Brandon too did the name and squiggle thing too...HAHA..How Funny :)

 

Hey there, my son Kevin also started Aug 21st. I never thought I would miss him this much...I even miss the clothes left all over the place! : ) I finally had a minute to log on and check this out. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one crying...if I start thinking about it at work I have to grab a tissue. I know he'll do fine with the physical stuff...he's so young ( barely 18) I worry about the other stuff. Thanks for all the comments...it helps to read things from other moms! debbie

So the box comes Fed-ex not regular mail?  I know not to look for any note in mine because my kid hates to write, he loves to talk though. LOL Hopefully he learns how to write in there or this could be a really long 8 weeks.....

Welcome Debbie! You are definetly in the right place!! I miss Kyle's shoes in the living room...he was the worst about that! Here if you need to talk!!

Thank Paula! My friends who don't have kids in the military don't know really know what's going on & why I feel sad-but-proud! Kevin always left his shoes everywhere...and he has tons that would end up all over the house! I hope we get to meet in Great Lakes...take care!!
